My mom, dad, husband, and I went on the Horn Blowers whale watching tour in December of 2006. This was a horrible experience...it wasnt so much the tours fault as just being a bad idea.

My mom gets sea sick, but we decided we were going to go on this tour anyways. She was going to buy motion sickness meds but the pharmacy told her she'd get sleepy, so she'd end up missing the tour if she fell asleep. Well, she ended up missing it anyways. She rushed to the bathroom and barely made it before she got sick all over the place. She was laying on the bathroom floor for so long a male employee had to come in and carry her out of the bathroom and lay her on the floor on the bottom of the boat. While she was down there being sick there were tons of people puking in bags and in the bathroom and such. Little kids and grown adults. I happen to get sick easily...so luckly I stayed outside and didnt see or hear anyone get sick....but I felt sick anyways, so I forced myself to fall asleep while sitting outside.

It was just the worst experience ever. It ruined the whole day. Not to mention it was like 3 hours on the boat with no relief. My poor mother. She wanted to buy a motion sickness bracelet on the boat, but they were sold out.

This trip was horrible and I recommend that people who are sea sick in the very least not to go. I usually dont get motion sickness, but I felt like I was going to toss my breakfast the whole time. I do however have pictures from this tour if anyone would like to see them.

I've been a San Diego resident for the last four years, and haven't done anything "touristy" until my friend and I recently went on the 2-hour Hornblower Harbor tour just for fun. It was great! A wonderful way to get to know all of the San Diego bay, enjoy the San Diego's fantastic weather, and relax on a yacht for a few hours. The service from the Hornblower staff was exceptional from start to end. So fun and friendly. Needless to say, I had a blast and would recommend Hornblower's cruise tour to anyone in San Diego whether you're a long-time resident or short-term visitor!

Called to make a reservation for my wife and my two children. One is 2.5 years old and the other is 9 months. I asked if we could also get 2 high chairs for the brunch cruise. The reservation agent said "I think we have booster seats or something, but you know the kids can't eat anything unless you pay...we typically make the kids sit on their parents laps." I said, what about your website that says that kids 3 and under are free? She said that was because they are not allowed to eat anything. I said, never mind...I'll go with another service that is kid friendly. Too bad, my wife was really looking forward to getting out on the Hornblower.

My husband and I went on the Hornblower dinner cruise for our one-year anniversary. This is a three-hour dinner/dance cruise around the beautiful San Diego harbor. Tickets are about $62 - $67 per person based on the day of the week you chose to go. I found a 25% off coupon online at [--].

Upon boarding your picture is taken in front of the yacht. You are able to purchase it toward the end of the cruise for $20, which includes 2 - 5x7s and a paper frame. You also receive a complimentary glass of champagne upon boarding.

We paid an extra $10 per person for a window seat, which I highly recommend. We got to see all the beautiful lights during our dinner. Our DJ was great. He took care of everyone’s requests. The food was good, but since we didn’t have lunch, we both were still a bit hungry. There is a full bar and prices were the same as what you would pay at any restaurant. Expect to receive a bill that includes 18% suggested gratuity based on the total cruise cost. This amount is only “suggested”, so you can leave what you want.

At the end of the cruise there was a fireworks show. This was the perfect ending to a great night. We had such a great time and highly recommend the Hornblower to anyone.

Our Real Estate agent gave us tickets to the brunch cruise and we had a great time. We live in San Diego and sail alot in the bay. I'd say this was an excellent way to enjoy the bay if you've never been or seen it a thousand times.

Great for families, old and young.

Professional staff and good food! Service was a little slow getting those drink refills.

At the end of the service, the waiter will hand you a ticket with a suggested tip of 18% at a full ticket price. They will give you the amount (about $18.00 for our service). We felt this was a little high considering it was serve yourself buffet.
