“Great Ocean Beach neighborhood eatery in a cozy, warm space with excellent food and wine.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2013

Great atmosphere for a special dining experience. Warm, intimate and good layout. I will come back. Also open later than many restaurants for late diners.

“The Secret Place Where Everyone Brings Their Out-of-Town Guests”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2013

I used to live about a block away from this place and it remains my favorite restaurant not just in the SD area, but anywhere. I'm astonished at the "4" ratings; as far as I'm concerned "5" isn't high enough. I always brought guests visiting from elsewhere here, and on more than one occasion I've overheard other diners saying the same. Atmosphere, food, service are all excellent. Waitstaff is attentive and knoweldgable, and there is usually a Sommelier available if you want to talk wine with an expert as you make your selections from the vast array of possibilities.

“Sweet bistro & wine shop in OB. Great Happy Hour, too”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013

San Diego can be very hot in August, September & October, and knowing a bistro and wine shop in a cooler part of town is important. We live near San Diego State where it was 94 one recent evening when we decided to head for The 3rd Corner for Happy Hour. Wow. Great wines and great menu. Great value, too. And it was 17 degrees cooler than our neighborhood which is about 10 miles east of the restaurant.

Happy Hour food specials are from the regular menu AND appear to be regular menu sizes. I had an abundance of mussels; he had penne with sausage. Both were full portions. Lovely cold sauvignon blanc was the house happy hour white pour @$4. We returned a week later; he had sliders w fries; I had a shrimp caesar. This time we joined the wine club, (its free) and now get 15% discount on bottles. We'll be back, even when the weather simmers down.
