“A Great Mistake”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013

We were taken by a one of those bicycle taxi drivers to a “Mexican” restaurant. He took us to Café Sevilla and we loved it. Ever order of Tapas was excellent and the place is very cool. There was a great selection of delicious Spanish reds. This place stands out with quality not shared in the Gas Lamp District.

“Good tapas if you can stand the wait and noise”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

The best thing about Sevilla is the tapas. A business associate and I shared 7 dishes, ranging from scallops to short ribs, seafood crepe to Spanish sausages. All were very good to excellent in terms of taste and preparation. It's everything else that detracted from the visit. First, we were made to wait about 30 minutes even though there were several tables available. We stood at the bar, nursing our skimpy drinks staring at the empty tables. Ultimately, we were seated at one of those tables. The place was full but incredibly noisy. It was tough to have a conversation. Then, the wait for each dish was so slow. It wasn't on purpose either because other tables seemed to be getting their dinners while still others were left waiting like us. It's a good thing the tapas was good.

“Tapas!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

I like their new location. The other was dark. The new location is hip. Still very noisy. One of the things I like about Cafe Sevilla are the tapas. What a fun way to dine with friends. Order a bunch of tapas and then share. The food is really good. Our server was great. One complaint is the size of their tables. We had four people which meant we had about 6-7 tapas and drinks. There just wasn't room.

“Strong start and weak finish”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2013

I took a group of 40 here for a business meal and celebration. They gave us the upstairs area which was great. Everything went well at the beginning but as the evening went on they got slower and slower on service. My folks were BEGGING for more drinks and food at the end of the night. It took three hours till dessert was served. Most of my folks had left by then.
Food itself was pretty good but the place is not equipped for groups.

“Great Happy Hour food & prices in Gaslamp District of San Diego”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2013 via mobile

Called in to make reservations for 5:30 & mentioned that we had 1 hr to eat & leave for the Opera at 7. Cafe Seville staff remembered & seated us & served us & got us out in 1 hr! Great food & prices during Happy Hour too!
Dinner for 2 was under $30.
We had the garlic mushrooms, crostini & warm goat cheese spread, meatballs and calamari. Also had a glass of rosé and a glass of sangria.
Plan on returning to eat & see the live Flamenco show!
