“SURPRISE”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2014

We thought we were going to a restaurant but it was a big fish market. yes there is seating outside but not your typical restaurant. We took our food back to the hotel room and both the shrimp and white fish were very good. Go buy your fish there and take it back to your room. It's worth the visit.

“Very Good - Beautiful Fresh Fish”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2014

Went to Point Loma Seafood's many over my years in San Diego. Consistently good food. It is casual dining and the staff in the dining room keep the tables clean and clear. It can get busy so allow time to find a parking space. When ordering if can be hard to hear but I am short and the counters are high. If they remodel again consideration should be taken to be able to order without having to go to the fish counter. But not complaints the food is great.

“Best fish market in San Diego County”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2014

I've been eating here since the late 70s. I always order the crab sandwich, which has plenty of crab. And when guests fly into town and we are near the airport or sightseeing in the area, this is where I take them for lunch. You stand in line to order at the counter, then wait for them to call your order ready. Then eat outside, if the weather is nice, watching the boats in the marina and the fishermen come and go. They have expanded to offer more seating inside and out...because they are usually mobbed. Yet, never a long wait to order or receive your food. Also a great selection of fresh fish of all kinds to take home and cook for dinner. Their fresh seafood soups are homemade of course.

“Great Place for Lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2014

Point Loma Seafoods offers a wide variety of sandwiches and other seafood platters. The service has something to be desired and is reminiscent of a New York deli having to order at the counter and take a number (non-sequential). They also offer the widest variety of fresh seafood available for purchase in San Diego, but at premium prices. The restaurant and store are recently remodeled and it is nestled next to San Diego Bay and the commercial sportfishing docks. Seating is outside and be prepared to fight off the seagulls from time to time. My favorite sandwich is the fried calamari on sour dough. Point Loma Seafoods is only open during the day so do not plan on a dinner here.

“Smoked fish to die for!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

The smoked fish sandwich on sourdough bread is really outstanding! The fish is fresh, flaky, and not dry. They are using a little less per sandwich than before the remodel, but still worth every penny!
