“tasty lunch but pricey”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013

A quick business lunch for 2, glad I wasn't picking up the tab as the food was a little on the pricey side. My BLT was very tasty and the yummy garlic fries that came with it are staying with me all day !! Service was efficient and friendly without being in your face, orders were quickly taken and our meals arrived promptly, drinks were topped up just at the right time without asking. Make sure you get your parking validation taken care of, our server offered to take care of both of ours without us asking which was good. Overall, a pleasant experience

“Eat the Sushi and Sashimi here”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

I stayed at the Marriott Del Mar for over 200 days last year. Without a doubt, when I needed "comfort food", I just went downstairs and had Andrew fix me some Sashimi. Andrew selects his own fish at the market every day and the sashimi is as good as any I had in Japan during a stay of over a year.Thank you, Andrew!!

Fire pits and by the hotel pool. Drinks were nothing special, but too expensive.
Sushi rolls were great!
Staff were in attentive.

“Over many visits we have always had a positive experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2012

Ten of us ate dinner in the small private room just to the right of the restaurant entrance just as we had maybe five, or so, times in the past five years. Maybe Arterra puts its best foot forward in that room, but the service has always been outstanding and the food way above average, but not outstanding. But our experience has never been as depicted by many other posts. Last night the majority of us ate the seared salmon which was crisp on the exterior and slightly undercooked on the interior – a magical combination. The price point at around $10 for starters and $22 for entrees is not out of line for the service, ambiance and the area – but not budget. In addition to the restaurant with an open kitchen there is a bar area at the far end of the room which opens onto an extensive outdoor patio area, which is often crowded and both can be noisy when filled with local professionals having a great evening often indulging in the great sushi and sashimi offerings and the incredible Cuban Panini.
