We visited PETCO Park for a night game against Washington on 30 April. The park itself has a great location, right in the heart of downtown San Diego.
Although it is a very new park, it does not have the look and feel of some of the other concrete parks, it seems to successfully be modern but retain an old fashioned feeling too. We visited the night after a series against LA, so while those games were 45000 + sell outs, our game had around 19000 or so and there was a little atmosphere lacking because of it.
However, we had great seats high up, the view was excellent and in some ways was better than some views we have had at field level in other parks.
We travelled to and from the park by trolley, there are 2 stops within a handful of minutes walk from the stadium. It seemed that the
car parks were not that big compared to other parks, and maybe parking could be difficult on bigger game days. All in all we thouroughly enjoyed our visit to PETCO Park
