Look no further. The Tin Fish is a great spot on the edge of the Gas Lamp area. It is informal--you place your order then eat in the bar, a small section by the order counter, or out on the patio. Friendly staff will advise you on the specials. We had a huge plate of fish and chips,a combination seafood platter (with some of the best calimari I've tasted)and a bottle of wine for under $45. Quality, quantity and service couldn't have been better. I'm recommending it to all my friends! Afterwards we strolled down 6th to wear off some of our dinner.

We just spent several days in San Diego at the Omni. Right next door is a great little seafood restaurant called the Tin Fish. We went in around 3:00 in the afternoon and I ordered the shrimp and calimari combo. It was delicious, hot, and a lot of food. Service was fast and courteous. We ate in the bar and had the best margauritas I have ever tasted. The bar opens late in the day and stays open until all the customers leave. Great place, not fancy, and it has outdoor seating for nice days. Very close to convention center and Gaslamp quarter.
