“Fantastic! Worth the wait”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013 via mobile

Love this place. Hadn't been for ten years. I had forgotten about it. Drive by, saw the mass of humanity outside- only about a 15 min wait. Incredible food. Everything fresh and tasty.

“Best cinnamon toast!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013

We stayed in San Diego for 4 nights and 3 of them we went to Mission Cafe for breakfast.
It was gorgeous. I always had a home made smoothie drink all of them were so fresh and fruit and their cinnamon toast. Two huge pieces of bloomer loaf with loads of cinnamon! My boyfriend had pancakes, with bacon and egg and they were also good, however the serving of bacon wasn't huge.
The parking for the cafe can be a bit of a nightmare, if you time it right you'll be lucky with a free spot outside, if not there is a car park across the street. It might be because we are English, but if you do decide to park there, take notes, and you then have to roll them up and push them into the holes-not like parking machines in the UK!
Overall really great breakfasts with a variety of healthy options too which I liked!

“If I were local, I'd eat here all the time!”

The first words out of my husbands mouth after digging in to the French toast... "If I were local, I'd eat here all the time." My breakfast was really good, too.

“Excellent breakfast!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2013 via mobile

While on vacation home in Mission Beach, we took a friend's suggestion to try out the Mission Cafe. What a great place. We went to breakfast on a Sunday morning - because we had a large party, our wait time for a table was about 15 minutes but smaller groups we able to be seated more rapidly. One in our party was a vegetarian and enjoyed the burrito with beans. Others had french toast made with their homemade bread. One had the banana almond pancakes. Servings were large enough to take some home for later. Eveything was great. Nice selection of baked goods and coffee drinks. We will be returning soon!

“worth the wait”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2013

Visited on a Sunday morning. Since we're a huge group we had someone put our name on the list for the 50 minute wait. Got there and the wait ended up being more like 70 minutes. But it was a beautiful day so we wandered down to the beach for a while.

Got in and seated. the place was jam packed and a bit noisy (but in a good way).

Had the papas con chorizo (from the "con chorizo" section of the menu. Spicy sausage along with fried potatoes and cheese and onions. Very tasty. the banana pancakes looked great and would feed a platoon. Coffees and lattes were very good. Service was good.
