“Top Notch!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

Delicious dinner at Greystone the other night! Ribeye steak, Filet Mignon and King Crab Legs were all served my guests! Everyone raved about their meal...tender meat cooked to perfection and King Crab...sweet as can be! Every dish is a la carte so the meals are quite pricey...but for a special occassion it's great! After our meal we strolled the Gas Lamp area for a most enjoyable evening of browsing and shopping. Definitely recommend Greystone and would return on my next trip back to San Diego! Enjoy....

“Location Location Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2013 via mobile

If you are a carnivore and prefer solid quality then you are aware about the price you have to pay. If you are in SD and wish to dine in the Gaslamp Quarter then you should count in the approximate 45% tourist charge on top.
However, expensive is relative. We visited LA before we came to SD so found all a lot cheaper, even the Gaslamp restaurants. I personally prefer quality to spending discussions and my culinary experience was absolutely fine. The ambience was nice and the interior stylish. The portion was too big to finish, the meat tender and perfectly cooked. The service could have been a little more caring. All in all a positive experience.

“Greystone,Rock Solid”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013 via mobile

We had 5 in the party and started with a large shellfish platter oysters, lobster, shrimp and crab
Very nice quality great flavor all 5 of us agreed.

We all ordered the bison filet served with a bed potato with a light brown sauce.
We ordered from med rare to med. all 5 of us said the bison was excellent.moist and very flavorful.

Deserts were good as well I had their gelato which is made local.

Why eat here? Service was over the top excellent attention to detail.food was very good and cooked perfect
This place is excellent for a dinner with a group of people.

Why not? If you end up eating late like 8-9 pm.you will walk out feeling like a cow.you don't come here for a light meal

“Disappointed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2013

Kobe Beef was not as tender as expected; it was not cooked consistently to requested temperature. Clam chowder was just ok.
Had higher expectations for the price. It was over $300 for 3 people and nothing was exceptional

“Nice food, lukewarm service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

Saw the reviews on trip advisor n decided to try.

My wife and I were passed between hostess to be seated before a service staff setup our table.

1/2 dozen oysters, buffalo tenderloin, iron pressed Kobe and 2 glasses of wine were good, damage at 126.

After we finished the oysters, it took more than 30 minutes for the entrees to be served.

We were not asked if we found the food ok throughout our meal.
