Cute little place with outdoor seating. Has a trendy, edge to it with good music playing. Family friendly. Burgers, hot dogs, fries etc. I actually ate there twice in one day for lunch and dinner. Both times good service and good food. Have a happy hour with 4 dollar drinks between 3-6 p the Screwdriver is pretty decent. Awesome location so close to the hotels.

“A disappointment”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2012

Though the error may have been corrected by the time you read this, it should be noted that this restaurant is in San Diego, CA rather than San Diego, TX. The remainder of the address is correct.

This restaurant recently opened in the former Pam Pam Cafe & Grill space attached to Days Hotel in Hotel Circle South. (The waitress said that the restaurant and hotel are not connected operations, though the restaurant does have permission to use the hotel lobby's restrooms since the restaurant has none of its own.)

I ordered the Mission Valley flat-top dog (a hot dog with garlic sauteed mushrooms, house ketchup, and house mustard, served split and open face on a regular bun), and was disappointed when it arrived to find that the amount of house ketchup was tiny and the house mustard was apparently left off - the waitstaff were extremely busy, so I went ahead and ate it sans the mustard. Also, for $5.50 I had expected a large hot dog, but the size was only that of a standard eight-to-a-pack Oscar Meyer wiener, if that big. I ate it in four medium sized bites. It was okay, but not anything above what I can get in a convenience store for less than a quarter of the price (and no tip).

And the convenience store hot dog would have been hot. This one arrived on the cool side of lukewarm.

I also ordered the $2.95 "hand cut fries", and pointed directly to that item on the menu when ordering, so there couldn't have been any misunderstanding. What arrived instead was a tiny order of fries, no more than half the size of the smallest at McDonald's. They were slightly soggy instead of crisp, but the taste wasn't bad. I would have objected to paying $2.95 for them, but when the check arrived the item was listed as a $1.00 "grab of fries", whatever that means (and that fry size was listed nowhere on the menu - I checked the menu over again carefully).

With tax, I spent $7.00 on a fairly standard hot dog and tiny order of fries, and left hungry.
