“Authentic Italian”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2014

Very close to the real deal; we lived in Naples, Italy for 3.5 years and the pizza is pretty good comparatively. The pasta is also very good and close to what we got in Italy. The staff is friendly and happy to speak in Italian to us. We will go back for sure.

“Authentic Italian in San Diego”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2014

Located near downtown in the residential area of Southpark, this restaurant transports you to Italy with its outdoor dining, Italian waiters, authentic Northern Italian pizzas at reasonable prices. The salads are huge and can be split. Try the artichoke for an appetizer! Reservations are accepted for 6 or more people. Si parla italiano!!

“Italian For Beginners”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2014

Yes- it is outside of the main tourist area and yes, the service is a bit slow. But close your eyes and listen to the restaurant stuff: you will be forgiven to think you are in Italy. The quality of food is excellent, so if you are not in the hurry 9lines and slow service) and crave Italian food you shall be all right.

“Don't Forgettaboutit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2014

Eat here!! This place is great for families. BF is one of my all time favorite restaurants...anywhere. Get there by 5:00 or you'll be awaiting a longa timea (italian owned n operated). Call ahead and if you have 6 or more people, they will make a reservation. If you have fewer than 6, they will place you on an "phone in" list, which if faster than "walk up". The service is very welcoming. It's run by Italians, so it's got a European vibe. It's a leisurely place so don't expect to be served quickly. Our picky 4 year old eater, loves the Polpettine (Meatball) Appetizer and Marinara Pizza. We order this right off the bat...then we get our food. Favorite Appetizers: Artichokes and Calamari...and I don't even like Calamari but this is very fresh. The Artichokes served large with the stem...and you can eat all of it. Favorite Salad: Sottoterra. Favorite Pizzas are the Nicola, Michelle and Isabella. But whatever you do, order from the CUCINA section: Crespelle and Scarpinocc!! The Crespelle is three Crepe rolled ham pasta with a Rich cream sauce. The Scarpinocc is about 12 of the best stuffed Ravioli you'll eat in your entire life. Hint...nutmeg.

“Very Italian :)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2014

The food is the real deal at this restaurant. In fact the food is so good that people line up for 40 minute to an hour to be seated! Make reservations for a party of 4 or more and the wait time is reduced. You will find the restaurant fast paced and the staff working harder than anywhere else to make sure your dining experience is top notch. Everything is made to order and the brick pizza oven turns out some really delicious pies! Don't be surprised, the staff is all Italian!
