“Great way to get "sea level"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2013

Aqua Adventures is a great way for visitors or locals to get a real sea level experience in San Diego. It's located on Mission Bay. If your phone has a GPS it might be good to put the address in for some directions the first time you go. I was a little nervous on my first visit, but SO impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. A single kayak (my interest, although the have paddleboards and other things) rents for $16.50 for up to an hour and a half. You can get kayaks with or without rudders, singles or doubles They'll also rent you a wet suit if you need one. If you come in straight from touring or work, there's a changing room where you can get into your paddling outfit of choice. Within less than a 10 minute paddle is a yellow metal buoy with some lazy seals lounging on top. Highly recommended.

“escape from your conference to paddle...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

I visited AA on Wednesday while at a conference in SD and came back on Sunday for another round. This place is ideally located near the end of mission bay so depending on your skills and the weather you can stay in the relative calm of mission bay or venture out into the swells of the ocean. There is an excellent selection of kayaks inclusive of closed deck ones, even some fiberglass ones. Prices are very reasonable. There is a changing facility and bathroom and even a shower on the premise. Staff are helpful and friendly. Highly recommended

Three of us rented paddle boards to try something new... We had to wait a bit for a group to return, so would recommend not scheduling your day so tight like us. The hourly price was reasonable, and they prorate if you come in late, instead of charging the full 2nd hour etc... We started out in the marina, thinking we could make it out to the bridge and into the ocean. yeah right- delusional first timers! We barely made it past the no wake zone before we had to turn around... I don't know if you're required to start at the marina, but if you are and you want to do some ocean riding, rent for more than an hour = ) Also, the staff was incredibly nice, and didn't mind storing our stuff while we were out.
