“Great Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2013

My wife and I stayed here for four nights with our two teenage children in August this year. After an 11 hour flight and a bit of a queue at the car hire place, hotel/valet/check-in delays aren't welcome - the Omni scored very highly in this regard with very friendly staff too. simply drove up to reception and left the luggage and car for the 'nice people' to park and carry!

This is a business oriented hotel so there were a lot of folks milling about in smart casual - except us. No matter though as it became obvious this was also a weekenders hotel for the Padres fans (Petco baseball park was about 100m away). Room was large comfortable and spotless with a great view. We used the pool which was again spotless and well managed. We didn't use the hotel restaurant but the 'morsels' cafe had a good Starbucks. The hotel has a well equipped gym which we frequented/earned a free apple !

We used the valet in/out quite a bit and they were very quick helpful and courteous also offering directions and water if we wanted it - maybe we tipped too much...

San Diego is a great place and this hotel is literally 150m from the gas lamp area - good fun

One little note to mention - my wife wanted to visit The Hotel Del Coronado for a sunset cocktail/view etc - the car trip over the bridge and walk along the beach was infinitely more rewarding!!! the 'Del' was not good...at all. Ridiculously busy (more like brighton pier on a busy day) for a 'luxury' and doubtless very expensive hotel. Folks were queuing for toilets back into the bar area and walking about in wet shorts and beach towels clearly just taking up seats and drinking water - all we did was walk right through it, out the other side and felt just a little bit of sympathy for the real guests here who must have felt like they were in some sort of whacky museum.

Re the Omni - IMOa very well run hotel with great management / staff training, very highly recommended and I think worthy of its place in the rankings for San D - great value

I was in San Diego for a conference and this property is very close to the Convention center. The location was very convenient. The rooms are very well appointed and has everything you would expect. The service was well above par and very professional. There are obviously a lot of hotels nearby but this was a very good choice. The only negative would be that it is right next to the Petco field and can get noisy during game times.

Wonderful , Yankees, Padre games, easy access. It was nice not to have to drive, pay and find parking to the games, that is the worst thing about baseball games. Rooms with view are great. Easy access to many restaurants , bars and shopping. The convention center was located across the street, with easy access to the bay. We had a wonderful, time especially because the Yankee's were staying there. We are avid Yankee fans, and did not have a clue they would be there, an extra bonus.

Very nice hotel. Very clean with a very nice staff. Very quick to respond to problems. Great location for the convention center and the Gaslamp. Restocked bathroom toiletries daily for you. Fitness center very nice and stocked with fresh fruit. They also provide headsets at no charge for the guests. Pool area very nice and the staff at the pool is fantastic. Making sure fresh towels were on the chairs and providing glasses of water to the guests.

great hotel location with convenient skybridge walk to petco park, hotel security needs to relax alittle bit in regards to "roaming" from front desk to 4th floor skybridge and taking escalator to pool

Great hotel, wonderful service, very clean. We really enjoyed our stay at the Omni Hotel & Resorts San Diego and would eagerly choose this hotel again. Close to transit, the convention center and the Gaslamp district (food).
