“Location, Location, Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2013

Recently stayed at the Omni for a business conference and stayed an extra few days to enjoy the weather and see the sights. The hotel is in an excellent location. We walked downtown every night to the many wonderful restaurants in the Gaslight district, walked over to the ferry to Coronado Island, walked to the Seaport Village and walked to the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier. The hotel was just a short hop to the trolley and the public bus system was also an easy walk. Without a car, location is everything. Along with great location the concierge and the door men were always very helpful, the rooms were clean and the King bed very comfortable. Our room was on the 7th floor and faced the pool and it was very quiet. The bathrooms were stocked with the little extras you would expect. Our room was always clean and tidy each evening when we returned. Overall a very satisfying experience.

The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Service was quick. The location is convenient for walking to the harbor, the trolley, or exploring the Gaslamp District. I was there for a conference and the facilities worked well. If you are going to a ball game at petco Field, this location is a must!

The hotel is beautiful - and in a perfect location to bars and restaurants. 10 minute cab ride from the airport. Our room was really nice, spacious, clean, comfy beds/pillow, great black out blinds. We were on the 8th floor with a view of the pool - which I was worried about noise, but had no issues with that. The train on Friday night was more of an issue - but I use earplugs at any hotel, so it didn't bother me. No trains on Saturday night. I liked and didn't like the shutters between the bathroom and the bedroom. The dislike for obvious reasons, the like - I could watch tv while getting ready! I did find the noise of running water from the rooms above me to be a bit bothersome - sometimes we couldn't hear the tv. Bottom line - I would recommend and stay at the hotel again, and definitely would ask for a room on a higher floor for a better view.

The Omni is a first class hotel with friendly serive. Try the baseball package. It is a no hassle way to see the Padres play. NO traffic, noo parking, no congestion. the bal park itself is also charming, with wide concourses and excellent in park dining.

Nice hotel, but the room we were given was so small we felt jammed into a corner. The room smelled muskey, the train ALL night long was unbearable. No where close to what I would have expected to get for $300 a night! Will not stay there again.

This is a very expensive hotel that measured up to the price for accommodations and staff friendliness. However, I was disappointed in the room service and the lack of a Starbucks in the lobby. Also, the TV had some glitches.
