Old and seedy. Badly in need of ...everything. Cramped parking, aging rooms, musty smells. Fuzzy television reception, a toilet that my husband had to fix a musty odor in the room. Bad experience overall and we will be looking elsewhere next time we spend a few days in San Diego.

Great value, excellent accommodations and superb location for that area. Comfortable stay. Roomy in the King rooms and I didn't notice any road noise. There is a nominal parking charge. But, all the hotels have such nuisance charges now in this area.

Our SEVENTH personal-travel extended stay at this location due to it's proximity to family and central SD freeways(and therefore everything SD), and affordable rate incl breakfast, internet, pool, laundry, parking. Usually stay at Hilton or Wyndham on business trips; so, like the somewhat experienced traveler, I understand hotel cost to value trade-offs. Also, I don't hesitate to require remedies to imperfections.

WHAT MAKES THIS La QUINTA EXCEPTIONAL IS THE STAFF, WHO DELIVER 5-STAR SERVICE EVERY VISIT! They instantly have accommodated every request for general room location, extra towels, pillows, and blankets. Most recently, PHOENIX NEWMAN kindly, cheerfully, and efficiently tracked down and returned prescription glasses forgotten in a room safe! Her responsiveness was extraordinary.

We haven't experienced any faults. For the rate, our rooms exceeded expectations in comfort, cleanliness, and daily maid service quality.

A happy surprise is to find affordability backed by the customer service standards of a 5-star hotel. Without exception, the staff are marvelous. How eager to please the maids were touched us.

This place has a real motel feel. The breakfast is pretty typical to slightly below average for a hotel in this class, but when I was there it was insanely crowded. Had to eat standing up or take to go both days. The halls are exposed to the elements, which is cool in climates of this type. It rained and the water pooled in the corridors, so I had to tiptoe through it. No one removed it all day. Seemed to occur on several floors. More like what one would expect in countries south of here. The room was good enough, bed comfortable and wi-fi decent. So if you want a centrally locacted place in SD at a good rate. It is worth considering.

The beds were very comfortable and the maid service, price, and location were good. However, the wi-fi didn't work for 4 out of the 6 days we stayed. (To compensate us, they removed the $8/night parking fee.) The toilet didn't flush our first night but was fine afterwards. The breakfast was pretty good but the equipment was not: one of the toasters broke (resulting in a very long line) and the coffee machine in the breakfast room quit working the last day. The staff was friendly but the owners need to update things BEFORE they break.
