It truly is the best place to stay. My family spend three nights here and we really enjoyed ourselves. The room was neat, modern and well appointed. The location is excellent, litererily up the street to lots of restaurants, bars and shops. All this 'good stuff' is complimented by the best staff we have come accross in the US. Polite, friendly and knowledgable of their city. The conceirge was simply outstanding, but the bell staff, desk and valet were all excellent.
Stay here and only here in San Diego. Don't worry about the proximity to the attractions like Sea World, it's less than 10 minutes away in the car.

I recently stayed in the hotel during a conference that was held at the convention center across the street. It was a very nice stay.

Yes, if you are very sensitive to noise you may be bothered by the freight trains. However, they provide some terrific white noise; essentially no different that staying on highway interchange, on waterfront, etc. The trains did not come close to affecting my stay; in fact made it more charming

The hotel had several very nice features. First, it's right at the foot of the Gaslamp District in a truly great location. Everything is within a short walk. Second, it was very small; almost a boutique hotel; not your parents Hilton. Third, there's FREE high speed internet. Sure, you may be paying for it in your rate, but not as an add on. Last, it's virtually brand new.

The staff is fine and everybody is very pleasant. I would highly recommend it.

This hotel is great! Excellent location in relation to the Gaslamp district, Convention Center, and Petco Park. It's very clean and the beds are unbeliveably comfortable. The staff is extrmemley friendly and the cleaning staff did a great job! My only complaint was that I stayed on the side of the hotel facing the convention center which happens to have very active train tracks below it. Not only are there trolley bells ringing every so often, there are freight trains at various times of the day and night with LOUD air horns. It was so bad that I would ask for a room in another part of the hotel but I knew that the hotel was sold out so I did bother. I would definetly stay at this hotel again however it would not be on the side of the hotel facing the convention center.

This Hilton is directly across from the conventions center for easy access, within easy walking distance of all kinds of food, right next to the trolley and a short walk from Seaport Village. Great location. All services were handled professionally and food in restaurant was competetively priced compared to other restaurants in area. Clean.

I stayed at the Gaslamp Hilton for five nights while attending a conference at the convention center. I always enjoy staying at the smaller hotels during conventions rather than staying at the main conference hotel. The Hilton did not disappoint me. I had a king room on the 6th floor looking toward the Gaslamp District. Very nice bed and bedding, and a nice bathroom. The hotel staff was always very nice. They always keep apples at the front counter and it was nice to grab an apple on my way out of the hotel each morning.

There is a park outside the front door of the hotel where many locals bring their dogs to play- if you miss your dogs they are always glad to let you pet theirs. Two blocks from Petco Park. The area was not noisy, even after a Padres game. Plenty of things to do and places to eat within the Gaslamp District. PJ's next door has coffee, rolls and sandwiches for breakfast. Marble Slab Creamery is just a half a block further for a late night snack. The trolley runs right outside the hotel - we took it to Old Town and it also goes to Tijuana. You can walk to Sea Port Village and the Harbor in minutes.

If you're looking for the fancy hotel with lots of pools, fountains and tennis courts (more like Vegas), stay at the Marriott or Hyatt. If you like a cozy more personal hotel, this Hilton is for you.
