“Close to all you need.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

Enjoyed our stay at the Courtyard Marriott over the 4th of July weekend. The rooms, although not overtly large, are well maintained and spacious enough for the time actually spent in the room. The restaurant/bar served decent meals and there is also a market that is available 24hrs. a day. The property does charge for parking, but there is plenty of street parking available in the neighborhood surrounding the hotel. Location is key to this property. It is blocks away from Old Town San Diego and numerous restaurants and shops. You are also in walking distance of the Old Town trolley station which can get you to downtown very quickly. The only complaint was that the spa was not working, but this was a minor inconvenience. Would look to stay at this property the next time we are in the area.

This is a pretty standard Courtyard by Marriott though the staff is great and the location is even better. It is only a block and a half to Old Town with many great restaurants, especially if you are here on "Taco Tuesdays." The rooms were clean and comfortable so no complaints with this hotel.

The room was pretty big and clean. Staff were very polite. Loved the free courtesy shuttle to and from the airport. Nice to save money. The drawback is the slow elevator since one was out of order during our stay. I'm a light sleeper and the horn from the amtrak train woke me up twice.

i regularly stay in Marriott hotels, with it being my choice hotel for business purposes throughout the US. To be honest, i was a little disappoined with the standard of this hotel, when compared to other hotels within the chain. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the room was a good size, but the room wasnt particularly clean, and the carpets need to be replaced. The room did not smell very fresh. The fitness centre was ok, and the bed was of consistent standard to that of other Marriotts, but the aircon was a little noisy. Overall however, based on my other Marriott experiences, I would not stay in this hotel again. Good location if you want to stay in Old Town.

Did a on nighter here with a friend who was visting. Staff was really nice. Property was pretty dated. Carpet and wall paper was hedious. Stains on wall paper all over room. I dont think housekeeping does a good job. Ever heard of taking a rag and wiping off the wall? Anyway I wouldnt pay over $60 a night here. Good location in old town/downtown But right next to the freeway. With a little TLC this place could be better.....

This was my second visit to this hotel this summer. Ian and Megan, the managers, were very responsive to my special request for connecting rooms. Carl? the shuttle driver was also helpful with directions to a favored restaurant. Guests have access to Marriot's cafe with Starbuck's coffee and while the menu is small, the food was very good. The pool area has a spa with a small pool, but very relaxing and nice retreat after very long day seeing the sights. The hotel is also within walking distance of Old Town San Diego, with wonderful Mexican restaurants and historical sights. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and while next to a freeway, I did not hear much traffic.

Small rooms and next to a freeway. The breakfast was good. the pool was small and cold, for its size it could have been heated, thank goodness for the marketplace```` I would not spend over 100 for the place
