The staff of the Navy Lodge NASNI out did themselves. From Anthony at check in to the coordinator of the weekly Manager's Welcome "Hot Dog" get together for guests, held in the lobby. I had made a reservation, but forgot to request a upper floor overlooking the ocean as recommended. If available upon registration, such a request would be granted. While Anthony was unable to give me an ocean view, the top floor on the corner room gave a view of a portion of the ocean and all of the NASNI airfield. Great room, clean and organized to maximize the room space. Microwave oven, refrigerator, and coffee maker in the room. With the balcony sliding door closed, no aircraft noise heard. Staff are cleaning every day in the lobby. Beach tables overlooking the ocean. Pool for kids mainly, with a automatic water buckets dumping device. Appreciated the well mannered kids at play, and there were a lot of them, LOL.

Secret is to make your request for a particular room at reservation, and check in at 1500 for your best opportunity at getting your requested room, top floor overlooking the ocean. Don't forget to visit the "Garden Terrace" on the roof with its 360 degree view, till 2200. Drinks allowed, but no glass bottles or glasses.

Room Tip: Request room on 4th floor with an ocean view. Check in at 1500 for possibility of getting requeste...

We stayed here for three nights during our family road trip and absolutely loved it. We arrived at the hotel before check-in and instead of lugging our bags around with us during the days the staff at the front desk held them for us until check-in time. During our check-in we asked the individual about food delivery and she recommended some excellent places. The whole experience was terrific. The hotel was right on the beach so we were able to walk to it anytime we wanted to. The pool was beautiful and very relaxing. The facility was clean and well maintained. The rooms were beautiful and housekeeping went above and beyond when needed.

I will definitely be staying at this facility again. I wished we would have stayed at this facility for the entire trip.

Room Tip: If possible ask for a room facing the beach.

This review is specifically a cottage at the Navy Lodge Naval Air Station North Island. My family of 6 had a lovely and remarkable stay last Father’s Day weekend at this cottage. The cottage had 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. It also had a full kitchen with a dishwasher including pots and pans, plates, glasses, bowls, forks and spoons and cups--- super convenient--- and a washer and dryer. We were also able to use the pool and had continental breakfast at the lobby of the hotel right next to the cottages. This is a beachfront property in Coronado for a super affordable price. We will definitely try to be back if we get lucky to secure another reservation in the future. Highly recommended!

We stayed here for just one night over a holiday weekend. Originally the lodge was booked up, but we were able to get on a wait list and luckily got a room a couple weeks before our trip. You can't beat the price - we paid $75 a night for a suite that overlooked the ocean. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer. The free breakfast (oatmeal, bagels, yogurt, cereal) was more than adequate, especially for the price paid. If you are eligible to stay at the Navy Lodge, then this is THE place to stay on Coronado. Great location, beautiful beach at a price you won't be able to find anywhere else! I can't wait to get back to San Diego so I can stay here again.

We stayed in a family suite and it was great! We loved the room and our view (pool and ocean)! The only complaint/suggestions the pool closes too early (5pm)! and the breakfast is not all that great(very little selection). We had a kitchen so we could easily fix the food, but the pool not so much.

Coronado, on the beach, under $100/night. That alone speaks volumes, but it does not do the property justice.
Beautiful property, clean rooms with microwave and fridge, nice pool area, rooftop terrace, and a beach right outside the door. This place is amazing.
The only downside is the constant air traffic noise, Sea Hawk Helicopters fly directly over the property pretty much all the time, and there are occasional cargo jets and fighter jets. This is only a minor inconvenience that in no way takes away from the incredible value of this location, in fact my family actually found the various aircraft exciting and we got lots of photos.
We will absolutely stay here again whenever we get the chance.

Best price in San Diego for what you get. Awesome location on the beach. Roof top terrace provides panoramic views.

Horrible check in. We had to sign in and wait for an hour. 5 clerks were working the desk. We booked online, yet each check in took 10-15 min. Their software most not be as updated as the building. The pool closes at 5 pm. The day we got there it was over 90 degrees at 5 pm. It would have been nice to jump in and cool off. For the $$$ we saved the slow check in was worth it, but it was frustrating to see such an inefficient operation. I'm not sure what was wrong but perhaps installing a "number" system like the DMV or a barber shop would at least give you a little hope.
