“Great place to go hiking!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013

We spent several hours out here hiking one day. If I'm not mistaken, we hiked every path out there and it took a few hours. We even hiked down to the beach and just enjoyed for an hour or so.

There is a little parking fee to get in the park. Something like $10 but it was well worth it if it helps maintain this beautifully preserved area.

“Plan to spend a day here hiking”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2013

As you will read from others reviews, there is a steep hill up from one parking lot that you can choose to climb (you still have to pay to park here--otherwise, there is limited beach parking). We did climb it and it was fine--but my husband has had some back issues in the past and the steepness of the hill caused a flareup so we, unfortunately, couldn't stay as long as we wanted. I was only able to hike the Guy Fleming trail (easy trail with great views) and then I walked on to the Visitor's Center while he headed back down to the car. There were restroom facilities at the top and bottom and water available at the top from a fountain (bring your own bottle or they can sell you one). I didn't realize that there was a lodge at the top--looked cute but I didn't check it out. AMAZING VIEWS!!!

“Beautiful beach and lots of it.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2013

We visited Torrey Pines on a previous trip to San Diego for a family picnic and everyone enjoyed it. The beach was clean and expansive with beautiful cliffs and lots of trails up on the bluff. There was only one picnic table at the beach parking lot area and it's reserved for disabled but one of our party was disabled so we were able to use it for lunch after guilting some able-bodied squatters. The weekend entry fee per car is more expensive than I've ever seen at any beach park (fifteen bucks) but it likely kept the crowds down a little bit and it was worth it in the end.

“Go early and stay for a while!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2013 via mobile

We read that this was the beach to visit and it proved to be true.
The beach can be walked easily and if you want a longer hike you can venture onto the higher trails for outstanding views of miles of beach lines north and south.
Take a day, take a lunch and plenty of water ,if you walk, to learn about plants while enjoying the beach and trails. Bravo!

“Beautiful views”

Great opportunity for some wonderful photos of California. Loved walking out over the cliffs looking down over the beaches as well as walking along the shore.
