My wife and I were looking for someplace to kill a couple hours before our room was ready. As we walked from the hotel into the upper Gaslamp District, we spotted the logo outside this restaurant and realized it was familiar. Being from Huntington Beach, the logo looked suspiciously identical to the Huntington Beach Brew Company logo we have passed (or enjoyed) a million times.
Sure enough, after plopping down at the bar our bartender confirmed it was the same owners. That meant we could expect the same quality of brewed beer we had come to expect. We were not disappointed. We were there from 1:30 pm until 3:00 pm. We did not order food but some of the patrons around us did and I can say that if it anything like the quality of bar food they have in Huntington Beach, it was good.
While we were there we watched the brewmaster switching out some of the beer lines. There was discussion about how often this happens. Obviously if one flavor is popular, it happens more often than you would think. It was good to see the brewmaster in the restaurant attending to his trade.
A good experience although I cannot rate the food. The location was at the corner of Broadway and 6th Street, right at the top of the Gaslamp District. While it was not very full while we were there mid-week, mid-day, we were told that once the NFL season starts, it is hard to get a seat.
