Me and my girlfriend was planning a short trip for labor day weekend. We wanted to visit Napa valley wine train tour but with two days off we couldn't make it happen. We came across La Jolla wine tour company offering winery train tours. It is about a 2 hour drive from where we live so we decided to book the tour.
The reservation was made on Aug 27th for two for Sept 2nd tour. I was told right after that I would be updated with the meeting point within 48 hours. So i went ahead and made hotel reservation to spend labor day weekend in SD. Waited three days without any updates from Shira (the owner) so I was a little concern and decided to email her. She replied with "You'll receive that info within about 24 hours." So I waited one more day and still did not hear back from her.
We were leaving for SD in less than 12 hours so I really needed to know where was the meeting point. I emailed shira once again for updates and she replied with "Please contact us regarding your tour." About 5 min later i received a call from shira telling me that the tour was not going to happen. She said that the train will be close for Labor day and that she forgot to update her site to not allow any booking for Sept 2nd. She finally decided to notify me right before the tour was going to happen. So now I'm stuck with the hotel without a tour!
I understand that people make mistake but I should of been notified when i email her the first time. On top of that I didn't get a call from her or the company till I reach out to her for the 2nd time! Obviously you don't care about your customer.
Anyone thinking about paying $92 for this tour or any other tours they offer......DON'T!
