“Good hotel, great location, younger clientele”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2013

My Wife and I decided to extend our vacation in San Diego and wanted to check out another Hotel. The Indigo was very well reviewed and the price offered was very reasonable. The hotel's location would be very hard to beat. just off of Gaslamp District, a few blocks from the convention centre and the harbour. The Hotel has a lovely lobby bar and later in the evening a beautiful patio bar on the 9th floor. We came in for an early check in, the front desk staff were fantastic and efficient. Our room was on a the 7th floor, it was spacious, clean and had everything one could want.

Now, the only hiccup in our other wise fantastic stay would be the noise in the evenings. Now, the Indigo caters to a younger crowd, which is awesome; but if you have to get up at 6 am to catch a flight, the yelling in the hallways and the partying in the rooms at 2am do not make a pleasant sleep environment. Not ones to complain, we have stumbled to a hotel late at night, quite intoxicated, many times, we stuffed some ear plugs in.

To be clear, this is not a complaint. This hotel is fantastic; but It does behove one to know that a younger client base can equal a lack of sleep.

Stayed here for vacation October 2013 and loved it. Staff at check in were friendly without being over the top. Big clean rooms, comfortable bed, lovely bathroom with an amazing shower. Location was excellent, right near Petco Park.

Would definitely stay here again

Spent a few nights at Hotel Indigo for business...rooms were large and clean, location is right behind Petco field, and good walking distance to the waterfront and all the attractions there. Did not use the restaurant, as there were many nice places surrounding the hotel.

I stayed in this property for 3 nights earlier this week. The hotel is a gem among stones. The property is kept up very well and the tone is vibrant and young. The Front Desk upon check in were fun and you could tell they enjoyed their jobs. The room was gorgeous, no complaints! Food Service in the morning was great from Carter at Table 509. He served us each morning and was always waiting with OJ. Jose at the front desk was extremely polite and knowledgeable.

The only down side was being on the 9th floor. The rooms are close to the lounge and on Saturday night things got a little out of hand. I'd recommend asking for a different floor.

Room Tip: Don't stay on the 9th floor...Choose a high room facing the stadium

Stayed at Hotel Indigo for 3 nights as a family of three (8 year old daughter). Check-in was easy enough, electronic room entry keys are a little temperamental.

Rooms are very clean and make good use of space, color and decor. Quite funky and friendly feeling. Beds are pillows are comfortable. Bathroom was very clean and well set out.

There's a bar a couple of floors from the actual rooftop with a nice atmosphere for a drink to finish the day.

The room we had didn't include a refrigerator, but there's a small ice bucket with free ice dispensers on each floor. There's a food market just around the corner that sells liquor, etc. Around 15 minutes walk (near Horton Plaza) there's a large grocery store (supermarket) called Ralph's which has an excellent range of salads, sushi, etc, etc.

Hotel is only a few minutes walk from the hop-on hop-off sightseeing bus, which we didn't consider was great value, although we used it to get to the zoo via Coronado (we'd previously included it in the GoSelect Pass). It's also around 10-15 minutes walk from the waterfront where the USS Midway is parked.

Suited our needs and we'd stay there again.

This is a very comfy hotel, nice rooms, big beds, incredible location a few blocks away from restaurants, bars and shops. Is also very close to the convention center.
The room that we got was quite big, with an extra king bed. Very clean also.
But this is a pet friendly hotel, you will find dogs in the lobby, at the restaurants, elevators, etc. we didn't hear barks or other noise, but I don't like the idea of being sleeping in the same bed that the previous guest was with a dog.

We stayed here for the last couple nights of our vacation. The location can't be beat, and the rooftop bar has a great view of the city. We enjoyed our drink under the heat lamps (yes, we needed them in April). The service was terrific. We had breakfast in the bar, and it was good, not great, but it filled us up and tasted ok. I love the free wi-fi, the decor and of course the awesome Aveda products! I would highly recommend this hotel!
