Service was great--every single person we came in contact with was extremely helpful and friendly. The parking situation is a little hairy--valet parking is really pricey and there is no self-parking option provided by the hotel. However, the valets themselves can be very helpful and understanding about one's hesitance to spend $35 a night to valet and will give you some tips on where to find free or metered street parking nearby. It may take a few times circling the blocks to find an open space, but we were always able to find one. The inside of the hotel and the rooms themselves are very clean, tastefully and interestingly decorated and well-appointed. The location was fine for me--it's surrounded by plenty of restaurants and shops. However, it should be noted that it is certainly on the border of the Gaslamp Quarter. If you're looking to be in the heart of the Gaslamp--this is not it. On the other hand, if you want to be within walking distance (several blocks) to the heart of the Gaslamp and you want to make sure you are out of the way enough to not be awoken by inebriated tourists leaving the bars in the wee hours of the morning, this would be a perfect choice.
