We recently stayed at the Beach Haven Inn just after memorial day 2009. The pics on the website looked pretty good and the prices were reasonable. When we checked in, we were ignored by the arrogant manager for a good 10 minutes. Then we were told that we would have to pay an extra $20.00 per day because my kids were older than 12 yrs. When we got to the room I was shocked to see the 70`s shag carpet with disgusting stains all over it. 'The floor was so noisy and creaky, I thought every one in the place could here me tiptoe across the room. One spot on the floor literally felt like it was going to fall through. This place needs to be torn down!! We often stay in P.B. at a nearby hotel. We thought we would save a little money this year. NOT!! Shop around, this place should be avoided at all costs!!

two couples with all of us working too many hours but grateful to have a job, found a place to pull the plug, rest, feel welcome by the staff. treated like guests not a burden. the room was clean,comfortable and pleasant. quiet in the evening, half a block from pacific beach, three blocks from starbucks, one block from joe's crab shack.

Wow, where do I start. First off my fiancee is a diabetic so we confirmed with hotel that there was a fridge in the room. When we arrived and opened the fridge it wasn't working and someone left yogurt in it that was spoiled and the smell was horrible. We went to front desk and they said they didn't have another room to put us in but said they could keep her insulin in the office fridge. The next morning when we went to get it they couldn't find it!!! They acted like we were a burden and were not friendly or apologetic at all! There were dirty towels on the bathroom floor when we arrived, the heater didnt work, the bed was "damp" we had to sleep on top of the blankets we brought so we didn't feel like we were laying in a wet bed, and there was sand everywhere and on everything. Now I expect a cheap room in a great location like this to be serviceable at best but it seemed like the previous people checked out and housekeepin did nothing but make the beds and empty the trash. Room was next to alley that was full of overflowing dumpsters, the pool wasn't heated and it was hard to find parking... We love Pacific Beach but couldn't wait to get out of this place. I stayed here 3 times in the last 2 years and I guess management has changed in the past 9 months and it has gone downhill fast!

We stayed in one of the suites for three nights. This was the first time in the area for my daughter, son in law, and two year old granddaughter. We were all very pleased with the location. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was very convenient especially with the little granddaughter. We used the pool and jacuzzi. It was a wonderful weekend. We would recommend the suite for extended family. Worked out great for the 3 1/2 of us.
