“Convenient and spacious.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2010

Conveniently located hotel at the end of I-8 literally. Hotel was accommodations are clean, ample space in each room and comfortable. We had a team stay there and the rooms were comfortable for our players. Only knock was I was told LCD TVs existed in the rooms but they really only are found in their king rooms ( very spacious ) and making photocopies was very expensive. Otherwise service was great.

Title says it all. You'll trade a horrible bed - it is springy with NO support at all - and a location amongst the homeless living in their beat-up motor homes for a well priced stay with free parking. Do yourself a favour and head over to Old Town and stay at the Holiday Inn Express or Courtyard.

This is NOT your typical Hampton Inn. I am amazed that the brand would allow this 25 year old property to carry their signage. What ever happened to brand identity? The breakfast buffet and color scheme match but that is where it ends. I can't say enough about how bad the mattress was; soft, springy and no support at all. It feels 25 years old even though the staff tells me all the bedding is new. If the beds are new, they are not Hampton Inn issue. No attempt to address the issue when I complained (twice) about it either.

We needed a hotel for a small business meeting. The Hampton Inn Old Town / Sea World was the perfect choice!

The staff made sure all of our attendees were happy and made a point of exceeding our expectations. The meeting space was comfortable and well equipped.

The location is convenient to everything.

The complimentary airport transfer was quick and easy to locate.

We will definitely use this property again when we meet next time in San Diego!

I usually like staying at the HI and this was no exception, but we had a few hiccups. When we arrived the room smelled something terrible, so we had to move rooms. This was a quick procedure for the front desk.

Stayed for 6 nights at the end of Aug 2010 through Labor Day. Location is close to airport (15-20 min) and right off of a major highway exit but a little tricky to find especially if arriving at night. Very nice lobby with easy check-in. Staff at the desk was very pleasant and efficient. Had a room on second floor overlooking the pool. Room was very clean and well maintained. Bedding was clean and comfortable...had plenty of clean towels at all times. The entire hotel is smoke-free and the clean air was very much appreciated. Pool is small but very well maintained...a staff person was out there every morning skimming, vacuuming, and testing the water. Never went in for a swim but many did and appeared to be having a great time. Complimentary in-room wi-fi and daily hot/cold breakfast buffet made this hotel a great value...the breakfast area has lots of seating and offers coffee/tea service 24/7 (nice touch for us tea-aholics!)...the staff even kept the buffet going well past the 10 am cutoff when it was busy, AND they kept bringing out more food, never running out as long as there were guests there in line. The ONLY problem was the location...it may be convenient to the earea's attractions (Sea World, the SD Zoo, etc...), but it's located near an adult entertainment area and there is only a Denny's nearby...the hotel does not have a restaurant of its own. You definitely need a car and parking there can be tight especially on weekends. Oh and they offer a complimentary airport shuttle (reservations required). Had a comfortable stay and would definitely stay there again.

I often use Hampton Inns during my trips. So I was surprised that this one was different. Not only a different building, alos the rooms were not at the same level I am used from other Hampton Inn hotels. The hotel is not bad, it´s quite charming, but it is simply different. If you want to go to Seaworld (only!) it is a good laocation, otherwise not. A couple of restaurants and supermarkets are near by, you can easily walk there.

My family of three (15 year old son) stayed here for three nights from thursday until sunday and really liked this hampton. It looks really new as the lobby is very large and spacious and the rooms are nice. The beds are extremely comfortable and very quiet. It is very close to several local attractions such as the beach, Sea World, Old Town, Sports Arena, and Downtown/Airport. I really enjoyed the fact that the breakfast, parking, and wireless internet in the room and lobby were all complimentary. There was also complimentary coffee and tea 24 hours in the lobby.

The swimming pool and hot tub was relaxing and clean and the staff was very friendly. We stayed in a 2 Queen Bed Deluxe for $129 a night and it was very fair priced. There are also several nearby restaurants and fast food places such as Olive Garden, In N Out, Denny's, Del Taco, Rubios, Subway, and Phil's BBQ (one of the best restaurants in SD - only about a mile away). The area is better and safer than it seems. The only negative was that there was no view from our rooms, but we didn't mind too much.
