My Husband and I stayed at Humphrey's to celebrate my husband's 30 birthday. We weren't dissapointed. The grounds were beautiful! We felt like we were in Hawaii. There were tropical flowers and palm trees everywhere. They even had two large Macaws hanging out over a beautful pond with Coi fish in it. When we got to our room they hotel had champagne and glasses waiting for us with a card wishing my husband a happy birthday. It was such a pleasant surprise. They even were gracious enough to exchange the champagne to Sparkling Apple Cider as we do not drink alcohol. The architecture of the hotel is really cool and kind of reminded me of "adventure land" in Disneyland. We also ate at the the hotel restaurant there. The breakfast menu wasn't over priced which was nice. The best part was the gorgeous view. I highly recommend this hotel. When I called in the price they quoted me was a bit higher than the price I found online so they matched the price....so that is a tip for you. Also, I recommend getting a room on the second level if you get a "pool view room" because you can't see much of the pool from the first floor. If I was staying there on a romantic getaway I would stay on the 2nd floor, but if I was staying there with kids I would get a room on the first floor so they can run back and forth to the pool.

  • Liked — landscaping
  • Disliked — room a tad small
  • Tips/Secrets: — get prices online before you call hotel....they will match it.

We were lucky to be upgraded when we arrived and found ourselves in a room overlooking the concert venue and marina. We enjoyed a couple of live shows, watching them from our balcony.

The pool area is great - towels laid out on the beds, a lovely pool bar with a tropical feel. All beautifully clean. The staff were very helpful, particularly the concierge.

The restaurant is lovely if you want to stay onsite - large windows give you a panoramic view of the marina, and again the staff were attentive and friendly. If you want to go out there are plenty of places to eat - catering for all tastes and wallets.

The room was comfortable, the bathroom was modern and very clean. If you are booking then request a room that is not overlooking the car park.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at HHM and would love to return one day.

  • Liked — High Standards all round - good value for money
  • Tips/Secrets: — Avoid rooms overlooking the car park

My husband & I are seasoned travelers and found this hotel one of the most surperb places we have ever been! Everything was great. Our room was located right at the edge of the concert area. We loved sitting out on the deck watching and listing to Emmy Lou Harris! A free concert for us because of our location. All the music from the concert ends at a decent hour - we are senior citizens and decent hour hour for us is much earlier than most. We hope to return to this hotel each year. And we would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone! The saff was wonderful. We made new friends. Everything and more that could possibly be expected was available. And by the way, our trip to San Diego was a wedding anniversary trip! Although no one at the hotel, restaurant or lounge was aware of our special reason for our trip, they made us feel like we were a king & queen. Try it - you'll love it!!!

Where do I even begin........ we checked in at night, which was fast....but......... as soon as we entered the room....I felt like I was in the movie psycho..... The room stunk like I can't even describe.. thank goodness I brought candles to kill the odor... The sheets were another story...they didn't even have a mattress cover over the mattress, GROSS!!!!!!! THE SHEETS WERE DIRTY...THEY HAD A BLACK STAIN, CAN YOU IMAGINE THAT!!! I I had the worse night of my life......I didn't fall asleep until 4am. This place was the biggest dump I have ever encountered. The other people who stayed here must of had a few too many drinks at the lounge to even recognize trash when THEY see it!!!!!

We checked out the very next day and went a REAL HOTEL,
"THE MARRIOTT" NEVER EVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
