I'm sitting here listening to a band playing Stones and disco covers. It's 10 p.m. Tuesday night. I have an 8 a.m. meeting tomorrow. This is a poor place to stay if you are in the area for work. Probably rocks if you want to party. Sucks if you need your sleep.

This insult added to extra charges for internet and parking. Avoid this dump.

I visit San Diego regularly on business but have never found a place that I'm crazy about so when I saw this hotel on Trip Advisor, I thought I'd give it a try. My first impression was pretty kitschy, but despite the tikis and abundance of bamboo, it's comfortable and the grounds are beautiful: lovely garden environment and a great pool. The Point Loma location is convenient: 5 minutes to the airport (but not under the flight path), and it's easy to get downtown on Harbor Drive. In a few free hours one afternoon, I borrowed a hotel bike and pedaled all the way down to the USS Midway, a fun little adventure. Free wireless, a bar sink and fridge, and friendly staff made this feel more like a little getaway and less like a business trip. I'll definitely return.

The grounds are really nice, but my problem was the noise. At around 2 am, there were people outside talking REALLY LOUD and it went on for about an hour.... I could also hear the people upstairs moving around.

When we checked out our room, we found spiders on towels and on the bed... good thing I checked first before going to bed...

My husband and I along with some co workers of my husbands stayed at this hotel for about a week in mid-october. The hotel grounds are very nice and mature. The pool/whirlpool area were clean. The restaurant and conference room were both tip top. The staff and concierge were more than eager to help in anyway possible. What I enjoyed the most was the fact that this place is on a a stretch where there is nothing but beautiful views of the skyline, the marine base, the planes coming in and out of the airport, the many, many yatchs and boats at the marinas. My morning jog along the water was out of this world. Great little walkway along the water....local fisherman on a small pier, seabirds and sealions.... Absolutely gorgeous!

The only negative I would have would be the rooms. They were clean, but tired. They needed a facelift. They were old and outdated. HOWEVER, I must say that I noticed some construction going on. It appeared that they were "redoing" some of the rooms....
