“Great hotel. Great Service. But DONT use enterprise rent a car with them.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2014

This vacation was wonderful. The staff at the hotel was amazing, Clean rooms. No complaints EXCEPT renting a car through them. Now do not get me wrong-the concierge was great and set everything up for us. But the dealing with Enterprise was the problem. We had an early flight on a Saturday. I was told I can leave the car at the hotel or return to the airport. We decided to return to the airport to find out the DO NOT have an airport drop off location. Horrible. Then to top it off the 1800 service number that says 24hours..is not! So I could not get anyone on the phone. We barely made our flight! and still never found a location. So please stay at this hotel. GREAT hotel. But do not use their rental car recommendation.

We're glad to have welcomed you and to hear that our concierge service exceeded the mark, and we're sorry that your rental car company's misleading information caused this ripple in your departure. We hope this cleared up without additional glitches, and we look forward to hosting you again the next time you're in the area.

My family of 5 plus my mother in law stayed at this resort in March 2014 for 3 nights. We got 2 rooms to maximize the space as well as the breakfast vouchers that Hilton Gold members receive. The location was the main reason for this hotel as we have stayed downtown SD in the past. The kids loved the beach and the pool is really nice at this hotel. The grounds are very well maintained and the staff was exceptional, very much up to Hilton standards. My only 2 complaints that prevented me from giving this place 5 stars is the absolutely ridiculous charge of $34 a night to park your vehicle. I don’t expect this to be free but $34 is excessive. I’m not sure there is any way around it though there are a few parks well within walking distance though I’m not sure you can/want to park a vehicle overnight in one. The second thing is that the rooms do not match the exceptions look and presentation the rest of this place has. They are in need of a serious update and they definitely do that a musty smell that other reviews pointed out. It was really bad when we checked in and we either got used to it or it faded due to us leaving the doors open most of the time. It certainly was nice that our rooms basically were right on the beach and we weren’t in the tower. Overall, the staff, location, beach & pools make this place great it’s just too bad the rooms don’t live up the rest of the place. I think I would stay here again but pick up some febreeze before checking in.

We're so glad to welcome you as a Hilton member, and we thank you for offering us this feedback of your stay. It's a pleasure to be able to share our waterfront oasis with you, and we're so happy to hear that your family was able to take advantage of our relaxing comforts. We do apologize if our parking fee caught you by surprise, as we aim to be as competitive in our pricing structure as we are forthright in presenting it to guests early on. That said, we'll be sure to pass the feedback along, and we hope to welcome you back the next time you're in the area. All our best until then, and thanks again for your stay and review.

Great location, nice property and very close to SeaWorld, not far from Zoo and right on Mission Bay. Hotel has a nice restaurant, coffee shop and small store with everything you need once on property.

This resort is located in a beautiful area. The staff are very nice, but the service is terrible. Our beautiful room had enough dust on the night stand (had glass on top of wood) to write your name in it. The carpet wasn't that clean either. The Aqua lounge is a disaster. Clean, friendly people, but completely disorganized. We had to wait so long for service the both times we went (I can't believe we went back the next day after poor service, but wanted to give another chance). For a $21 breakfast buffet, I expected at least some live cooking, but it was no better than regular hotel with lukewarm food in metal food servers. Nothing special at all. The oatmeal was barely warm, and they don't offer spoons any where-you have to ask-so we did 3 different people. On Sunday, there was a line at the Aqua lounge for breakfast-it was gorgeous outside and I couldn't wait to eat in the sun looking at the water. But no-they turned everyone away from eating outside because the tables and chairs were wet!!! Helloo!!! A towel would work. Isn't this supposed to be a resort and don't they expect people will want to eat outside and enjoy the sun??? The pool side towels are not beach towels. They are regular size bather towels and faded in color at that. I will not return because I do expect more from a place that calls itself a resort.

Thank you for being our guest and for lending us this feedback of your visit, Patti. While we're happy to hear that you enjoyed the scenic views of our quiet oasis, it's unfortunate that these service shortcomings hindered your visit. We strive for consistency in expedient and attentive services, and it's apparent that we missed the mark in a couple areas during your visit. We'll certainly share this feedback with our teams, and we encourage you to reach out again to experience our site and offerings at their more typical best. Thank you again for your time.

My Husband and I were on our honeymoon and we were looking for a relaxing place to stay. From the pictures online it looked like the hotel was a beautiful four star resort. The resort has four star prices and two star service. The pool is pretty, but there were tons of kids and not enough parental supervision. When we got to our room there were old rust stains in the tub that at first glance looked like chum. The rooms were so noisy too. The maid service was vacuuming in the next door room at 11:00pm, an employee who slid our receipt under the door did so at 2:00am and he had a radio blaring, and everyone in our hotel was yelling throughout the whole night. Lastly there was no bell service. Don't get me wrong. I'm not above carrying my own bags but I don't want to pay a four star price for something that is more like a motel 6. Never never never again!!!!!!!

While we're glad to have welcomed you to our property, we're disheartened to hear that is was marked with so many disruptions. We aim to afford our guests with a tranquil escape, so it's unfortunate that you were unable to find serenity in any of our offerings. We'd welcome the opportunity to further discuss this visit with you, and we encourage you to reach out to the team at your next convenience. All our best until then, and thanks again for your time and feedback.

I recently stayed at the Hilton resort Mission Bay. As a seasoned traveler I can tell you that I always try to stay at this hotel when I am in the San Diego area. The location is awesome from the outdoor perspective. The waterfront, the parks and the pool area are great! The rooms...well it's a hotel, so you get what you need. The service is excellent! I love the restaurant and the staff. I ate there every day and after the first morning the hotel staff knew me by my first name, and they always were courteous. They were very nice to talk to and learn more about the area. On this particular trip, we decided to go to Mexico for the day and the restaurant manager went out of his way, even to print us direction to some great restaurants in Mexico for our day trip. It helped us so much and helped top off our great trip! Everything I look for in a hotel from the property amenities to the restaurant, and why I will be back soon! Thanks Again! Aaron

Room Tip: I would not spend the extra money on a room that has a fire pit, just get a room. The atmosphere of...

Nice stay for business, too far from downtown and attractions without a car or hassle of cabs. Shuttle was a decent deal. Overall nice place, very nice area once you get around the bay. Rent a car if you want to do any traveling in the area. Mission Beach is nice and less than 15 minutes, the same as Old Town. You can walk to Sea World.

Room Tip: Stay in towers, although not as convenient for families, the towers seemed a little newer. Property...
