“Conference Stay----OK!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2013

Stayed here for a Ted McGrath conference last weekend through Monday and it was wonderful! Rooms were lovely, beautiful property, great rooms for conference AND when I found out 4 days later I left clothes in the closet, they had them and have shipped them to me immediately. Miquel Hernandez was very kind and easy to work with and was very reassuring. Will definitely use them when I start booking my retreat weekends for Do Love Right Retreats!! Thank you Hilton!! Looking foward to doing business together!

Room Tip: Section 5 had a beautiful view of the Bay!

Have just returned from doing the San Diego Susan G. Komen 60 mile walk for breast cancer. One of the "host" hotels was this one. While the hotel is huge and grounds are huge, they were not prepared for nor did they do anything "special" for this event which they have in the past. We ate at the restaurant one night and the bar one night, then went off property from then on. They only have the one restaurant, one bar and a small, overworked coffee shop. The food was nothing special, typical hotel food, the bar ran out of several types of beers and didn't have enough staff to serve people in a timely manner. It is NOT a hotel I would recommend for large groups or even small ones. The rooms were typical hotel rooms, nothing special or grand. Our room was not cleaned one of the days by the time we returned after being gone al day walking and we had to run down clean towels.

Thanks you for being a guest of our Hilton Resort and for taking the time to reach out with your experience. We're honored to be able to host guests like yourself, who are in town for such noble causes, and we're disheartened to hear that your visit fell short of the mark. While we take pride in our ability to host groups small and large, it's clear that there were shortcomings in your stay, and we'd welcome the opportunity to discuss these more with you. Please feel free to reach out to a member of our management team with those lingering concerns you might have; it would be a pleasure to speak with you and to have you back to our property to experience it at its more typical and detail-oriented finest. Many thanks again for being ort guest. We hope to hear more from you soon.

Kind Regards,

There are extra fees for parking, expensive drinks at the bar, resort fee, expensive breakfast.

Positives: Hot tubs, comfortable bed, quiet (off-season November 2013) and relaxing atmosphere.

Hilton is my go-to and was a much better night's sleep than previous trip when staying at the Hyatt in seaport/downtown area.

It's an extreme pleasure to have been able to afford you with a relaxing and enjoyable stay in the region, Elizabeth, and we thank you for taking the time to reach out with your feedback for us. We're happy to hear that you enjoyed our many offerings, and we apologize if some of our fees caught you off guard. We certainly aim to be as transparent as possible regarding both our resort and parking fee, and we'd love to hear more of your visit to learn where this transfer of information might have become lost. We encourage you to reach out to our team at your next convenience, and we hope very much for the chance to host your next San Diego visit. Many thanks again for being our guest and for lending us the insight of your stay.

Room 230, chemical smell through vent due to something someone was burning. Advised staff, they were great and had housekeeping spray the room with air freshner. Smell remained throughout night thru vent when air was blowing... Made for an uncomfortable night and headache In the morning.

Staff: Evening security were awesome. Front desk-Nick, awesome personality. Public Relations is for him.

Best Hilton we have stayed in thus far. Will return with the Grandkids and have a ball. The location was perfect. Located on the bay will all the possible water sports available right outside our door. We brought our bicycles and had a room facing the water on the ground level. It was so easy to go casual biking and enjoy the day.

I stayed at the Hilton San Diego Resort and Spa for the first time this past weekend. I thought this was an overall great hotel - clean room, friendly staff, beautiful grounds. My only complaint concerns getting to my room. Since it is a resort, I expected to 1. the grounds to be well lit (which they weren't) and 2. once I got to the building with my luggage, I was on the second floor of a building that didn't have an elevator. Sadly, I would think twice about staying here again if I'm not in the high rise building across from the Front desk area.

Bar food was expertly prepared
Clean comfortable and quiet rooms
Function rooms fully functional
Did not use pool or spa or exercise facilities
