Take advantage of the low prices on amazing sushi and savor the unfiltered sake. I loved the 4x4, my fiance loved the katsu chicken, and everyone we came here with loved the calamari. Don't pour your own sake, though. It's bad luck. The specials are always good. The only bad side to the restaurant is the long wait on a busy night and the sometimes overly loud obnoxious music. The atmosphere inside is much better now that they've opened the next door area, though (though the wait seems to still be long).
Here's a tip for a busy Friday or Saturday afternoon/evening: Drive to Sushi Deli, write your name down on the paper outside, and drive away. Take a walk down to the Embarcadero or Balboa Park. Come back an hour later and enjoy the waiting experience with a little less grudge.
