“Beautiful outside but cant go inside”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

The Victorian houses are Beautiful on the outside and well preserved. Unfortionately you can't go inside. We were so disappointed. Its like going to 1/2 of an adventure. The park grounds were well maintained but its on a hill and my handicapped challenged husband had a very difficult time.

“Would Be Nice to be Open to the Public”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2013

The houses look lovely on the grassy knoll.... They are closed up and not open to the public.....

So really, who cares, when you can not go inside?

At least they provide a nice view from the Hotel's building # 6!

“a charming village”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

It's a nice way to see Victorian Houses all in one spot. They are lovely, nicely refurbished. You can imagine life at that time period there. A hidden San Diego gem

“History”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012

If you like history you have to check it out. The settlers brought a bit of home and it is different than what you think San DIego is all about. You thing spanish buildings but the first non native settlers had a different idea.

“Nicely preserved Victorian village”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2012

This collection of a half dozen Victorian houses and the historic Temple Beth Israel is well worth the three block walk from Old Town Historic Park after you have become saturated with the intertwined Spanish-Anglo history of San Diego. This presents some strikingly different symbols of a couple of aspects of that history not apparent in Old Town, nicely presented on a beautiful lawn. Do not make a special trip to see this, but when you visit Old Town make it a point to take this short side trip.

If you really do not wish to walk and are willing to give up your Old Town parking space, this site does have a limited amount of parking. I visited on a Sunday that was quite busy for Old Town, but the Heritage Park parking lot was not nearly full.
