“Gorgeous Park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

This park has awesome museums and the Prado restaurant is a great place to end the day of touring! There is complimentary self parking but the Prado does offer valet if you're just wanting to dine in Balboa Park

“Wonderful City Park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

The historic architecture and plantings make this one of the most beautiful city parks in the USA.
Culturally there are great museums, theaters and outdoor sculptures all located within easy walking distance. The park is a visual delight.

“Fun for all ages”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

The Balboa park has something to do for everyone. Museums, galleries, gardens, restaurants... For the kids, there are puppet shows, science and space museum with IMAX, everything within walking distance. The San Diego Zoo is right next door as well. For the dads, that shun at museums, there a classic car collection too.

“Beautiful architecture.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2013

Some of these buildings are built more than a 100 years ago. The layout of the park is lovely. A great place to start getting a feel of San Diego if you are visiting as a tourist.

“Do the Tour First - Then Go Back to Museums”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2013

For $5, you can get an audio tour of the main area of the park. I would encourage you to start there - you can park at Inspiration Point Parking lot and take the from there and go to the central part of the park - since there is no parking up near the center. The audio tour explains about the buildings and setting in Balboa and why things were set up - all for the 1915 Expo - very interesting.
