“The Heart of San Diego”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

when visiting San Diego, our tourguide insist that we must visit Balboa Park, while honestly we prefer to do shopping. However, we finally agree with his suggestion,
At first, we thought of makinfg a wrong choice because we came on Saturday and the traffic to the Park was so bad. But the Park itself is simply beautifull. So while in San Diego, allocate 1 -2 hours to visit Balboa Park

Loved the Art museum, photographic museum, rose garden and cactus garden. Very well maintained historic buildings.

“Amazingly beautiful! Highlight of my trip to San Diego.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

We visited Balboa Park on our last day, and I'm so pleased that we did. It was definitely a highlight of our time in the lovely San Diego.
There are several museums to visit, some free and some with admission fees but as we were on a budget we decided to just take in the beauty and walk around snapping away with the camera.

The park is absolutely beautiful, and so easy to get to on public transport. (We just jumped on a bus from downtown and it took around 10 minutes!)
The atmosphere is brilliant, it's obviously a tourist hotspot but its not over crowded and it seems like a lot of the locals like this place too!

The greenery is beautiful and so are the museum buildings. The architecture is amazing and I found that I could stay there all day taking photos and looking around,

Plenty of vendors around too if you get hungry or the kids want an ice cream!

Definitely worth the visit.

“A perfect place to visit!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

I never imagined there's a place like this in San diego..soooo undisturbed yet sooo beautiful!!! It's actually my first time to see Balboa Park, which at first i thought was just a piece of a small ordinary park..And when i finally took my glance at it, i was totally in awe...what a beautiful work of art and architecture! There were so many people (it's summer!)..having picnics, strolling, taking pictures....so relaxing! Definitely, i will be back!

“Coming Home Again”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

I grew up in San Diego and recently returned after 30 years away. Balboa Park is more beautiful now than it ever has been. Packed a picnic lunch and walked the parks and museums. Great photo ops, street performers, people watching and beautifully maintained grounds. Parking behind the organ pavilion is free and plentiful. Know that the Art Museum is closed on Wednesdays so I felt bad that I missed the one museum I wanted to see. But took in the Air and Space Museum instead and it was a fun diversion. Fees for some attractions/museums but also a day pass available online that is a good value for multiple attractions. Other than the Air and Space Museum, we did not pay anything for a nice afternoon in a beautiful location.
