This hotel lived up to all the wonderful reviews. Great value and the location was great. I would highly recommend.

The Courtyard Liberty Station is clean and modern, the staff is highly professional, the room service was timely and tasty, but most of all the location is absolutely perfect. 10 minutes from downtown San Diego, 10 minutes from the Cabrillo monument, 5-10 minutes from Old Town, maybe 20 minutes to La Jolla...it's a great, safe and quiet hotel, with a park, walking paths, waterview, and lots of shopping and restaurants across the parking lot. Oh, and parking is FREE!!!

My wife and I enjoyed our stay for three nights at the MC in September. Rooms were spacious and clean which is why we regularly choose Marriott and the staff were helpful and mostly cheerful. Location is excellent with it's close proximity to the airport, harbour area, Downtown and Old Town plus as a bonus the Trolley Tour stops close to the hotel which is an excellent way to orientate onself to the layout of San Diego on your first day which is what we did. The Liberty Station dining opportunities are OK but not great. What is nice about this hotel is you can walk immediately by the waterways of SD which is great after the long flight from Europe.

Newer hotel with a modern contemporary feel. Nice pool/spa with a tropical grotto look. The hotel is near the airport and planes can be heard departing and taking off; thus, the name of the hotel. No planes took off during sleep hours, so we weren't bothered. That being said, our first floor room's bed was comfortable with quality linens. Spotless bathroom was spacious with granite countertop. Nicely appointed with numerous plugs and hook-ups for computers, etc. Enviable clock radio with i-pod docking station/recharger. The Kreuig coffee maker was just too complicated. (Whatever you do, don't use the coffee packet after you've poked a hole in it ... makes for a big mess and useless coffee). The staff was friendly and allowed us to check-in 30 minutes early. The Liberty Station is an interesting destination with the former Naval Training Center having been converted into shops, restaurants, and office spaces. Nice walking path adjacent to hotel.

The hotel is close to airport, and yet you do not notice it: no noise or view on runways. Instead, the hotel has a view of a bay; a walking pass and a park surround the property. There are Liberty Station shops, restaurants, and stores nearby. The hotel is very clean and beautiful; parking is free The staff is friendly and helpful. The room had very nice decor, flat screen TV, complimentary internet, a refrigerator, soft duvet (the bed is bit hard), and large bathroom. They have a fitness center and an outside pool (did not swim due to weather and the meeting schedule). You can print from a room or at a free business center. The hotel has a restaurant and a coffee shop. The breakfast is ok: you can order an omelet (make sure the chef does not leave the oven area or risk your omelet to be overcooked) and there are some self-service items available; few berries. Aside that, the hotel is a really good choice to stay in San Diego when you have busy meetings and want to enjoy some tranquility afterwords. (It is not in downtown, which is good if you want to sleep at night and not to hear all emergency vehicles' sirens, train whistles, and music blaring till 3 am.)

spent 4 nights in San Diego with friends & picked the hotel as Trip Advisor had it #1 in the city & there were not wrong!! nothing could be faulted from the room comfort, quiet location (altho close to the airport) & cleanliness of the hotel. The staff were also extremely friendly & helpfull

The only slight downside is that you needed a car as there was no public trasport in the area but didn't affect us as we'd hired a car anyway & it's expected that you do ned one in the USA

I'd fully recommend this hotel & will certainly use again next time we're back in San Diego

We live in San Diego and decided to stay at this hotel because we were participating in a triathlon that was taking place very close to the hotel. It turned out to be a great decision. In order of importance, it was very quiet and we slept well. The room and the hotel were immaculate, very important to us, as well as beautifully decorated. The staff was the friendliest staff I think I have ever encountered in our many travels. And I mean genuinely friendly people. There were grocery stores and restaurants within walking distance. The location is fabulous and even though we live in the San Diego area we will definitely return for a staycation. Our stay was better than we could have imagined!
