“Trash Cans Where Are YOU?”

We live in the area of this McD's and when in a hurry hit the drive through. Understand that our review score of the McD's at 29th and Wannamker is largely a result of a failure to have trash cans outside suitable for someone going through the drive through to use.
We are just an average family with a busy life and often realize that we need to make room for drinks in our vehicle cup holders as we are ordering the next drive through meal.
This location use to have convient trash cans at several spots along the drive through so one could prepare for the oder they were making. After years of this customer service oriented service this location stopped. Now the to use a trash can you have to stop let someone out of the vehicle on the passenger side so they can walk across the parking lot (and hope you child isn't hit in the parking lot as they do so) to dispense trash then walk back. Or if you are driving solo you have to find a parking spot (someimes a real issue), park, get out, walk to a trash can and unload. When we are in a hurry either of these options is more than a casual hassle.
If we think of it before we are in line and have trash that has to go to make room there are times we just drive on North on Wannamaker to Taco Bell or another McD's who do provide trash cans for customers that are accessable. Do they loose some our business...YES. Do we still go there...YES. This issue is a managerment issue. A choice of how to conduct business.
The food at the location at 29th and Wannamaker is good for a McD's. As long as you stick to the dollar menu you get good value. If you order a meal.... well...for the price why would anyone do that? Or rating for value is based on ordering off the dollar menu.
If you are a frequent guest the staff get to know you and are friendly. The language issue is still present but not as over the top as it has been in the past. It seems to go in cycles.
We recommend this location as long as you take the time to keep your veh nice and clean. Otherwise there are more accomodating drive through just North of this location.

“spit in chicken nuggets!!!”

On December 1st i drove to McDonalds ordered 6pc nuggets and sweet and sour sauce and a diet coke i walked to a table and opened the box and i saw a gross vial booger and i was disugted

“Standard McD's with Language Hassle”

To Clerify this review is on the McD's at 29th and Wannamaker.

The flowers outside in large pots are beautiful, as they are each year at this location. A real plus.

The food was just as one would expect at any standard McD's.

The service. The staff smile and are polite. However the english as a second language issue is a nagative factor. If you ask a question often they are not sure what you are asking or don't know the words to easily answer your questons. An example. Our son asked if they were going to bake fresh cookies and NEVEr got an answer. The employee didn't understand and after several exchanges back and forth we just dropped the inquiry and didn't order cookies. Ordering continues to be a hassle.

The inside is clean but doesn't pop shine as it sometimes does.

It is still difficult to empty trash from your vehicle from the last McD run in order to take on your new order, if you use the drive through.

We have noticed that the ice cream machine works with consistancy these days. For a long time it was down as much as it was up and running.

The food is typical McD's. If you don't mind the language issue and are not in a hurry (as this factor can delay you) then we recommend.

“Getting Better!”

Have been to this McDonald's several times in the past month. The items on the dollar menu actually taste fresher and better.... The english as a second language is still and issue but not nearly as distruptive as it had been. The entire lack of trash cans around the drive through, unless you want to get out of your veh., walk across the parking lot to a trash can is still distruptive, not customer service motivated, and is still a reason we sometimes go on down Wannamaker to another fast food chain that is more accomodating.
Over all I would be lead to believe that either this owner doesn't read the reviews or isn't interested in cusomer service enough to make changes or return to prior policies that better serve the client.
The food to our surprise is even better than normal.... that says a lot for a McDonal's chain.

“Dishcloth pieces found in Ice Coffee....Gross!”

We live in the area of this McDonald's and go there a lot.
The place is clean.
The WiFi working and a booth near the restrooms has an outlet you can plug your laptop into if need be.
The large flower pots outside are always wonderful from spring to late fall.
The food is just what you'd expect from McDonald's.
Some negatives:
In the morning when they are the busiest for the drive through they get their supplies delivered taking up valueable space for the drive thru. So many times we notice that and just drive on to another fast food place.
No trash cans available to use when leading up to or exiting the drive through. So if you have drink cups from your last visit you are just SOL. There use to be trash cans before and after the drive thru but they are all now in the parking areas. Creates just another hassle for the customer.
Language is an issue at the drive thru and sometimes the counter. If you ask them to repeat to often their body language (at the counter) reacts as if to say you "the customer" has a problem. When in a hurry this one aspect is just an uncessary hassle. None of the other fast food chains in the area have this problem. ?
The managers are nice and usually responsive to little things you bring to their attention.
Last month while dinning inside did suck up a piece of dishcloth through our straw when drinking a ice coffee. It was gross. Took it to the manager and got a replacement drink. However no other consession was offered..... if I had a customer suck up a piece of dishcloth (as identified by the manager) I'd of been all over myself and would of offered any number of things to extend our regrets.
When I started to write this review I'd forgotten about the dishcloth incident.... that was a major gross out event and played down way to much by their manager.... this will impact our rating significantly.
