“Above Average Comfort Suites!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2012

Good hotels are hard to find in Topeka at an affordable rate so this facility is a GEM! This was our second stay here for a baseball tournament. The hotel is a new property and has easy access to the highway and is close to many restaurants and shopping opportunities. It is very nice and has a high-end boutique feel. Rooms are large and have a seating area. The staff was very helpful and friendly which is always a plus! Breakfast is the usual fare for a Comfort Suites. My 13 year old who is a seasoned traveler thought this hotel was very cool. We stayed on the second floor and he liked that he could eat a night-time snack on the ‘balcony’ that looks down on the lobby and having pool is always good when traveling with teens . This hotel will be a ‘do-over’ for future visits to Topeka!

Room Tip: The second floor has a balcony with seating that is nice for quite conversation.

We managed to get a good price with a senior discount, and were glad we stayed here, but also glad to leave. Maintenance and staff attitude left a lot to be desired. There was no soap in the bathroom and none was brought after we called about it. The bath tub had no working plug. HBO was not at the listed channel. We felt unwelcome at breakfast, where we found loud cell phone conversations very annoying. I wish the hotels in this chain would use real pillows instead of Chiclet-sized squares. The indoor pool was rather chilly, and there was no spa.

Stayed at the Comfort Suites in Topeka for 2 nights while attending a conference. Location is a plus next to I-70 for ease of getting around Topeka and to Kansas City. Also, close to main shopping/restaurant locations in city.

Hotel was very clean, room was very spacious. This is the 3rd time I have stayed here and will continue to do so. Beds are great.

Only possible negative was hot breakfast items, but that is the norm for hotels of this type. Not great, but not terrible. Good selection of cold breakfast items...toast, rolls, bagels, cereal.

Room Tip: Best to have rooms on west or north to avoid lights from parking lot on the east and south.

Stayed a weekend here recently and can't think of a single thing to complain about. The hotel was clean, quiet, and nicely decorated. The staff was friendly and helpful. It is close to every restaurant one could hope for. My 10 year old enjoyed the pool very much.

Room Tip: The rooms above the pool face away from street traffic.

We were pleasantly surprised to find this hotel on a recent trip through Kansas. It was like an upscale hotel. Granite everywhere, high quality furnishings, good design choices. Even the pool was nicely done with mosaic tile. Friendly, helpful staff, quiet rooms, close to several restaurants and easy access to the interstate.

This up and coming hotel is a great choice to stay while visiting Topeka. I make several business trips to Topeka and decided to try out this hotel when it first opened. Every time I stay I am impressed with their services, food, and hospitality. It is a great opportunity to support a new business and I have enjoyed my stay each time. I would recommend this hotel to the buisness traveler or for a family vacation.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2011

We stayed here for one night in late December, 2011. While the room and beds were fairly clean, for a newer hotel it already feels a little run down. Crud on the baseboards, cracked or broken fixtures in the bathroom and dirty shelving for towels. It could use a little extra care.
Our door had a 1/2 gap all the way around, so every noise from the hall filtered in.
The beds were comfortable, the breakfast and coffee were hot and good. It just felt a little .... let go.

Room Tip: Don't get a room near the pool.
