“A Hidden Gem In the Nation's Heartland”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013 via mobile

While vacationing in KC, we decided to take a drive to the Eisenhower Museum (which is splendid, by the way). I decided that a stop in Topeka for dinner might be interesting, and after a little investigation discovered the RowHouse. We were not disappointed. Every course was delicious and beautifully presented. Two members of our group have dietary restrictions, and the staff did a marvelous job accomodating us, without any loss of flavor or elegance. As good a meal and as attentive service as we have had anywhere in the country, yet at a fraction of what I might expect to spend elsewhere. I'm not sure when we will pass this way again, but when we do I won't drive through Topeka without eating at the RowHouse.

“Best Restaurant in Topeka by far”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

Topeka has many chain restaurants and nicer local places are not as common but the Row House would be a hit in any city but in Topeka its easily the best in town. It is in a historic row house downtown that was owned at one time by one of the state's first governors. You can order off the menu but I recommend the tasting menu which gives a small sampling of the weeks menu. It is $35/person which is high for Topeka though not in Houston where I live by any means. The food quality you get for it makes it a good value at that price though. They have a small bar downxstairs and have nice wine pairings to recomend. Chef Greg also will stop and visit with diners from time to time. They even grow some ingredients in a small garden in back. The service is impecable and the food is superb. Overall Row House is a cant miss option for fine dining at a reasonable price in Topeka.

“The best place in town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2013

a regular night, a special night, a celebration night, any night - Wednesday thru Saturday - This is the place to go! Food is amazing, service is impeccable, and the decor is warm and cozy! Greg and his staff dish out a delicious 5 course sampling, paired with the perfect glass of wine (optional). If you decide to go with a different pairing or just want a drink, you can't go wrong letting Jaime choose for you. Everyone at RowHouse strives to make your visit the best one, they make is easy to have the best dinner experience ever! Do yourself a favor and call, reserve, sit and enjoy. You will not regret it!

“Best Restaurant in Topeka, Priced for Special Occasions”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2013

My husband and I tried Row House for the first time recently. We were blown away by the experience. The building itself has a historic past and since we were visiting during the last dinner service, our server was happy to give us a tour after the meal. Next time we plan to request the main level window table (one of the most requested tables in the house) or the private room for two.

What we enjoyed most were the atmosphere (although we were in the lower level where tables are very close together; would request seating elsewhere next time as mentioned above), high level of personal service (the waiter explained not only what was in each dish but how the creation was inspired), and the taste of the food. I like that the menu changes every week and is based on what is fresh, sometimes even what's available locally (the night we were there the basil in our soup and the greens accompanying our red beans and rice were plucked fresh from the restaurant's backyard garden).

The price of the meal is high compared to other places in Topeka, but the value and the experience of the evening were worth it. We plan to forego a couple drive-through meals and a sit down dinner or two each month to be able to enjoy the RowHouse again and again.

“Special Place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

Food and service were excellent. Contemporary American tasting menu at a supreme value. Meals of this caliber in Kansas City would be at least 150.00 per person and it was 37.00 for the entire 6 course tasting menu. Everything was very fresh and house made. I would go back.
