My husband and I stayed at the Hilton for 3 nights. We could not have been more pleased, as we did not expect this level of accomodations in Tupelo. The hotel is in a convenient location, right by the arena and downtown area. The lobby is large with a fireplace and sitting area to the left, complimentary coffee and tea bar, and restaurant area off to the right. Complimentary copies of the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and the local paper are available at the front desk. Staff was courteous and we had no problems checking in, even thought it was about 9pm.
There are 100+ rooms, but only 8 suites, one of which we were in. We got the handicapped accessible room, which was great. The living room area has a flat screen tv with a wide variety of cable, including HBO, etc. There is a ceiling fan, chair, coffee table, couch with sleeper, multiple lamps, and a desk area with complimentary internet (both plug in and wifi). Digital thermostat heated up the room quickly. There is a small hallway between the living room and bedroom, which had a hutch with microwave, coffee maker, and refrigerator.
The bathroom was large (again, we were in the handicapped room) with a huge walk in shower and Neutrogena products, including mouthwash and lotion. Shower head was very high and had great water pressure.
The bedroom was also of a very good size. Flat screen tv in this room as well. Surprisingly, the closet was very small, but there was so much space in the rest of the room, it didn't matter, suitcases could go anywhere and not be in the way. The bed had 4 pillows--2 down and 2 synthetic down--all comfortable. The bed was quite possibly one of the best beds I've ever slept in and had a wonderfully warm duvet. Not much of a view from the window, but then again, there was not much to view from any direction in the building.
Front desk staff was wonderful. Our first night, the room next door had a bunch of little girls who screamed, shrieked, and giggled uncontrollably starting at about 1 am. After the people on the other side of us started pounding on our wall, thinking it was us, I had really had it (I'm pregnant and had been traveling all day, not a good combo). I called the front desk at about 2 am. Staff was very apologetic and the noise stopped within a few minutes. Why there was a room of unsupervised children, I don't know.
The only negative of our stay was that on the 3rd day, we left the room early in the morning and didn't return until after 5 pm and our room had not been cleaned. Housekeeping finally showed up at almost 6 pm and we left so that they could do their thing. Who doesn't clean a room until the evening when the guests are still checked in? Weird.
Overall, we had a great stay at the Hilton. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
