I stayed here the nights of May 25/26 for a family reunion. There were a couple of hiccups with check-in since I had 2 separate reservations. I think the gal at the desk was new. She put me in a room right next to the (very slow) elevator so I called down to ask to change rooms. They found another room for me down the hall (4th fl) and I asked them to bring me the key since I didn't want to move all my stuff up and down the very slow elevator again. I guess they'd never had that request before and it confused them. Another front desk girl came up stairs and practically threw the keys at me and grabbed my old ones. So needless to say, they didn't give a very good first impression. Anyway...
I had a double room and it was very nice. The bathroom felt a bit small but it was functional. The hot water & water pressure were great. One weird thing is housekeeping only left me conditioner - no shampoo or lotion - just 5 bottles of conditioner. I had my own so I didn't care, I just thought it was strange, but the housekeepers I saw during my stay were usually busy chatting on their cell phones in the hallway so maybe they were too busy talking to pay attention to what they were leaving in the bathroom. Having a refrigerator in the room was also nice, since I needed to store food for our reunion. There is also a microwave and coffee maker.
I used the gym one day. It's very basic with 1 elliptical, 1 stationary bike, 1 treadmill and 1 weight station. There are 2 tvs and towel service. I didn't use the pool but it's a decent sized indoor pool.
Breakfast was good. I had family staying down the street at the Courtyard by Marriott and they said the options offerred at the BW were much better. There are the basics such as coffee, juice, cereal, yogurt, muffins, bagels, fruit as well as a pancake making station, biscuits & gravy and eggs and meat (one day ham, one day sausage patties). The attendants were working hard to keep everything stocked at breakfast.
The location of the hotel is pretty central to all that Tupelo has to offer. I don't think I'll be back to this area in a few years, but if I do return, I will definitely consider staying here again.
