“Just right!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013 via mobile

I am currently staying at The Harborside for business for a few days. Check-in is not until 3, but we were able to check in early. The hotel is chic and in an area of downtown Boston that is right in the middle of all the things a tourist would be interested in! Within a block, all the shopping and food you could ask for. A "T" stop literally outside the front door. A street away from trolley tours and the docks where you can take boat cruises etc. The other hotels in the area are higher price so it makes this an easy choice.
The room itself is a little cozy BUT you have every amenity in a fridge, DVD, AM/FM CD player, safe, TV, nice closet with iron & board, alarm clock, comfy bed, HUGE mirror and the bathroom is luxury with tiled shower stall big enough for two. Hair dryer and plenty of lotions etc.
I am loving this place! Staying in Room 614

I was very pleased with the room and its facilities, fridge, iron, big TV and DVD player :-) The location for the Hotel is perfect. We took the subway from airport and straight to the Hotel, very easy. We could always get coffee in the lobby and an access to computers. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We got a room with a view over to the street/sea so we were lucky. The location to the Hotel was perfect for us, everything in an walking distance.

For the price of this hotel, the location truly cannot be beat. It is a stone's throw away from Quincy Market (where you will find an awesome food hall and lots of shops) and just round the corner is the Trolley Tours where you can buy tickets to take the hop on/off trolley tour. The New England Aquarium is a few blocks away as well as the ferry where you can take the harbor cruise from.

The hotel does not have a grand porch/ lobby so be sure not to miss the entrance like we did. There's free wifi and computers in the lobby for guests to use. Plus free coffee round the clock.

We were given a corner room which had a huge bathroom (I think this room may be designated for handicapped guests hence the spacious bathroom). My parents' room had a standard sized bathroom which paled in comparison to ours. Only thing is that the bed is a little small for 2 adults and a toddler. Otherwise though it was a great place to stay and explore Boston from.

I have to say this was a great find. It is across the street from the water, near many bars and places to eat, a couple blocks from Quincy Market and in walking distance to the North End and Boston Common. The room was nice, very large by city standards. It was pretty clean (and I am very picky) and the bathroom shower was nice. The bed was comfy and the rooms were very quiet at night. We booked an atrium room and this was just fine. The parking garage they use is worth the discount, make sure to go there. The reason I did not give this place a five was no gym, no vending machine and the air vent in the room did make some weird clicky noise sometimes, however not enough to really bother me. They have just finished a bar/lounge on the lobby level which I think will be very nice when opened, I plan on staying here again the next time I come to Boston.

They called it a 'courtyard view' room, but really it was a dark room with bad lighting looking out on an air shaft behind the elevator. The air was thick with construction dust, in the lobby and in the rooms (the entire ventilation system). I found myself wandering around outside as long as possible so I would just fall asleep as fast as possible in that depressing room.

While I was gone, the maid took the zippered, tightly fitting allergy barrier pillowcase off the pillow and replace it with one of their standard hotel pillowcases. In ten years of traveling, this has never happened - because this pillowcase is so different from anything at a hotel. It is always just set aside, no problems. The front desk promised to ask housekeeping to look for it the next morning (it costs about $25, so it is not a little thing), saying they were leaving a note, no need to call again, but the next morning the front desk said no note, no idea what I was talking about.

As noted by other guests, there is always a garbage bag of garbage just sitting in the hall (?!) by the elevator.

The best thing about this hotel is its location, but there are lots of other hotels nearby to choose from.

Room Tip: Just stay away.

At least six of us attending the same meetings were transferred to the Harborside Inn, the day after Boston bombings from the Charlesmark on Boyelston, (the Harborside Inn's sister hotel). We stayed at the Harborside during a very difficult week, during which time the Harborside staff was beyond helpful. Even when short staffed, (due to a city wide police lockdown), they managed to service the rooms, keep patrons happy and manage an ever changing situation, KUDOS to Steve and others for being very helpful.
My room was huge, with a fridge!, period bricks and a great view. The bed, bathroom and huge closet were fantastic. I loved having a table to work on. The wifi was fast, and the unending coffee in the lobby was a godsend. The Aquarium T stop is just a few yards from the front door (with a fab elevator for rolling the suitcase when to/fro the airport on the blue line.)
Due to the crises many restaurants were closed, but the staff were helpful in directing us a few blocks right up State St. to Dunkin Donuts, AuBonPan or Starbucks as options. Ps. The Tedeshi mini market 2 doors away was a lifesaver, and their employees were fantastic.

I am so glad we took the chance on staying here. The location cannot be beat! We were steps away from Fanueil Hall/Quincy Marketplace as well as the waterfront. Walk to Boston Common and Public Garden about 10 minutes. Parking for the night only cost $12 with validated ticket. 24 hour market a couple of doors down, as well as Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks (which is helpful because the hotel lacks a restaurant). Coffee was ever-present in lobby, which was surprisingly modern and had a high-end yet comfortable feel. I enjoyed the mix of exposed brick from the original building with modern touches! Hotel very clean and relaxed, rooms much bigger than I expected. Beds were comfortable, hot water aplenty, free Hbo... I could go on, but I'm basically rehashing what other have already stated. I would like to say that the pictures on the company's website don't really do this place justice- it appeared nicer in person.
A couple of minor suggestions, which would NOT prevent me from staying here again:
- there are no vending machines or anywhere in the hotel to get something to drink. Not a big deal since the convenience store is on the same block, but it would be nice to get a bottle of water without having to put my coat on.
- garbage left in hallway all day. I saw this is someone else's comment before my trip and noticed the same thing upon my arrival, then saw it later twice after going back to the hotel. Still there the next morning even when housekeeping cart was in the same hallway (she had to have seen it!) Despite this oversight though, everything else was perfectly clean.

Room Tip: If you are concerned about the noise from the street at night choose an interior room- extremely qu...
