The second night of our stay at this hotel, the fire alarm went off three times between 12:30 and 3:30 am. Since we were staying on the 11th floor, that made for a very tiring night. Especially since it was raining and the exit led right onto a rain soaked alley adjacent to the lobby. In the past at other hotels, when the alarm has gone off, the PA system announces in your hotel hallways if it is legit. We had no PA system and when we called down to the front desk (after the second alarm), the phone just rang and rang. At the very least some sort of message for guests should have been left. There was no actual fire, apparently there was some issue with the club next door. The night staff (of two) seemed overwhelmed the third time the alarm went off and finally told us that the fire department had declared an all clear. No offer was made to reduce the rate for this evening, although I heard from my sister (our family was staying at the hotel for my daughter's college graduation) that free breakfast was offered the next morning. I was too tired to get up. The hotel was reasonably priced for Boston, and is very central to many of the tourist sites in town and the train stations. Just can't recommend it based on this experience.
