I attended the National Association of School Psychologists convention in Feb. 09' and stayed in the Sheraton. It was one of the three for which a discount was offered through the convention. The other two were the Marriott and the Westin. I knew people that stayed in both. For others considering GO TO ONE OF THOSE!!! The Westin is beautiful with a great breakfast. The Marriott is central to an convention activities. If attended for a convention I suggest the Marriott, if for leisure, the Westin.
I stayed with someone who has sevre food alergies. We called the day before to confirm that we could have a fridge and microwave. They said it was no problem. Upon arrival neither were there, so we called down and were told that a fridge would be brought up but that no microwaves were available. When I asked why not when we had called ahead, they said it was first come first serve. I explained how we had requested it, that we were told it was no problem, and that someone in the room was unable to go out to eat due to allergies. We were there for FOUR days and to make a long story short -- NO MICROWAVE EVER!! Apparently they have no regard for people with medical complications as my poor friend ate cold cereal and bread for the 4 days we were there. To top it off -- we called each day asking for a microwave, being told we were "on the list," and then when one of us went down to ask face to face, they gave us a perplexed look and said, "We only have one, and it's broken." Nothing beats being LIED to for service!! They are really lucky my friend didn't contact ADA as I'm sure they would love to hear about how well they took care of someone who voiced a medical disability which was totally disregarded.
We checked in using the Kiosk which apparently meant that we were not warned of the renovations going on above our heads starting at "7am everyday" when in reality they started no later than 6:30 every day. When we complained they basically told us it was our fault for checking in using the Kiosk because had we used a person, they would have warned us.
Please, for your own sake, DO NOT STAY HERE.
It has a good location in the financial area, and they are doing renovations to make their horrible rooms better supposedly, but do yourself a favor and stay at one of the other two if you need to stay in the area!!
