“Convenience, Service and Integrity”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 days ago NEW

We chose this hotel for its proximity to the Boston Pops, and were delighted with our stay. Location is excellent, just a few blocks to the Pops and to shopping on Newbury Street, plus a convenient inside walk to shops and restaurants and T (subway) station in the Prudential Center without ever going outside in the cold. Check the hotel's website for deals - we stayed in a king room for a fantastic prepaid rate which was half of most other properties in the area. As SPG Gold members we were upgraded to a lovely river view in a room that was renovated but small, especially the bathroom. It was fine for us because we weren't hanging around in the room except to sleep. We liked the hotel's Green Option to skip housekeeping in exchange for a $5/day coupon for Starbucks located conveniently in the lobby. We also liked the personal touches like a note and small treat delivered to our room for my birthday. But by far the best thing about this hotel is its staff. Everyone we met was genuinely friendly and took pride in providing the best possible service to guests. We were especially impressed and grateful for this when we realized after we returned home that we had left an iPad in the room. When we called the hotel and were told that the housekeeping staff had found it and locked it away for safekeeping, we were relieved and frankly surprised. Integrity is often rare in situations like these, and we commend the individuals involved and also management for fostering such an excellent service oriented environment. We look forward to staying here again.
Parking tip: Valet is available for $51, but we saved money by parking a block away at the self-park public garage for $34 a night.

First, the positives: great location, especially if at Hynes convention center; wonderful views; attentive staff; pleasant club room with good breakfast and nice afternoon hors d'oeuvres. The negative: while staying on a club level floor, I was attacked by bedbugs while snoozing in an upholstered chair by the window, in broad daylight. I sustained many bites, and spent the next couple of weeks fairly miserable with the itching. To the hotel's credit, they were instantly attentive to the issue, put me in a room "guaranteed" to be free of bugs, had all my belongings steamed-cleaned and bagged. Would I stay here again? Probably not, because it's hard to ask for a room guaranteed to be free of bedbugs. FYI, bedbugs are a huge problem in Boston; check bedbugregistry.com.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that has been treated for bedbugs.

Green Features: I like the idea that one can get a $5 coupon for NOT having room cleaning.

My daughter, grandson and I stayed here for a conference my daughter was participating in at the Convention Center. We had a suite with a convertible couch in the living room and a large TV in both rooms. It was spacious and light and airy with a great view of the city. We were given the option to opt out of daily housekeeping in exchange for a $5.00 (for each day we accepted) coupon for the Starbucks on the main floor. That was a good deal as we didn't need to have our sheets changed everyday and anything we needed was graciously offered to us by the housekeepers doing their rounds.
The location, as mentioned by others, is very convenient. It is attached to both the convention center and the Prudential center. As the weather was cold during our stay, my grandson and I were happy not to have to be outside but could wander the Prudential Center shops and food court. The T is also accessible from inside the Prudential Center.
We also spent lovely time in the swimming pool, which is full size and attached to a splendidly equipped work out area.

Green Features: High marks for their environmentally-friendly practices. There is a towel re-use program and you are offered the opportunity not to have daily housekeeping and sheet changing in exchange for a $5.00 certificate to the main floor Starbucks.

I stayed here for one night and was really impressed. However check in had a VERY slow queue and no one manning SPG desk. It took 15 minutes of waiting before I had got to the counter. Other than that great hotel and great location.

Room Tip: I was on 14th floor and it was great. I think this is a SPG Club Level floor. Did not visit lounge.

This is one big hotel located in the heart of Boston and right next to the Hynes Convention Center. It does what it needs to do quite well. Service is efficient. What you need is there. Rooms are very clean and quiet.

Why 4 stars and not 5. Well it is pricey for what you get but that is the cost of location. Also--I know this is nit-picky but for hotels where people are going for business and may need computer work done--why do desk chairs not include arm rests. Frankly is this par for the course but it just kills my shoulders to have to work on a computer and keyboard and mouse without armrests!!!

Arrived late at night ,check in was quick, staff friendly. No one to assist with luggage which I thought was odd ,but we managed.
Room large ,comfortable beds, wonderful pillows.
Hop on hop off bus available at front of hotel which was very handy.
Had buffet breakfast which was average but there was a Starbucks in the hotel which served good coffee.
There is a shopping mall attached to the hotel, which is great in the cold weather.
I would recommended this hotel to anyone going to Boston.
We stayed 3 nights.

Room Tip: Any room would be okay for a short stay. We had a room on a higher level which had good views.

Recently, a group of educators from Central Wisconsin had the privilege to attend a conference held at the BSDR. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, the service, accommodations, food, social areas, etc., were some of the best we'd had.

In particular, a thank you and congratulations to the concierge services, and in particular to Alaina. She was engaging, attentive, heard and listened, provided, and followed-up with every request made. Alaina is exceptionally talented in the hospitality industry, and if you have the opportunity/need to utilize the concierge services, ask for her.

Great stay all around. Thank you!
