“Wonderful Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2014

Wonderful to stay so close to the Boston Common and across the street from Legal Seafood and not have to pay an outrageous amount of money for the experience! From the moment we pulled in, we were greeted by friendly, engaging staff who went out of their ways to be helpful. Our room was lovely. Accoutrements were well-chosen. Beds very comfortable. Service was prompt.... smiles everywhere! Will definitely go back to this hidden gem. I would recommend this hotel to for business travelers, couples and suburbanites looking to get back to the Boston Experience!

Room Tip: We were in a corner room and so had no traffic going by the room. We saw a sensational sunset!

This was my second stay at the Revere in 18 months and went back because of a great stay first time around. The hotel has some really good plus points - The rooms are large, comfortable and well furnished and the location is great, just a short hop to Boston Common. However can't help feeling things have dropped off a bit since my last stay. Generally hotel is showing signs of wear and tear, but grubby around the edges, carpet in room worn etc. Also staff were a bit hit and miss, especially on check in. Granted we arrived too early and our room wasn't ready - fair enough that happens but guy on the desk ( who seemed a bit bored of it all) said he'd call when it was ready and that never happened. Also when we went back to check in there was a massive line as the system was done. Again that happens but having one member of staff walking the line and dishing out champagne was just a waste of resources when she could have been helping check people in.
I like the Revere it has the potential to be a great hotel but seems its just letting a few things slip. Also a refrigerator in the room would be good and a few extra TV channels like NBC sport wouldn't go a miss.
I'll be back in Boston again soon and will probably stay here again, just hope they don't let there normally high standards slip.

Room Tip: Ask for a view over back bay.

First visit to this property. Choose property after reading reviews and comparing prices. Was not disappointed. Stayed 4 nights and the room rate for this AAA 4 Diamond property was great. I have paid more at many 3 star properties! Room included a king bed, large desk, large chair. Each room has a small balcony that provides great views of the city. Our room was on the 24th floor. Corner room. Bathroom included soaps and shampoos. Room was very clean and housekeeping did an excellent job each day. The staff from the front desk to housekeeping was very friendly. Property location was great. 1 block from Boston Commons (had a great view of the Commons from the room.). 2 subways, Tuff Medical and Chinatown were a short 5 minute walk. Absolutely great property and highly recommend and will stay again when in Boston. Room rate was an EXCELLENT VALUE!

Room Tip: Higher corner rooms facing the Commons provide great views. Ate at Rock Bottom Resturant on 2 occas...

Stayed at the Revere a couple of times as it is on my companies preferred list. That being said, you never know what to expect. Well, let me just say, WOW. This place is a great hotel in a great location. The rooms are very modern and well decorated. From the moment you check in, you are treated like a valued guest. And to top it all off, it is a great value. Will keep coming back.

This is a great hotel with friendly service. The rooms are very nice with extra touches such as soaps from a local source, water, and other special touches. The fitness facility was nice as well. I would recommend this hotel for couples and those on business trips.

Stayed in a two room suite, they advertise having sleep number beds yet the suite did not have one? Woke up with neck aches from the pillows. Wifi was terrible. The "Emerald Room" which seems to have been highly rated by some, had only 3 beers on tap one of which was outdated and with a white back lit lounge was clearly not "Emerald". Even being warned upfront upon arrival that the suites are located next to the elevator they could be noisy from the traffic. When in fact it was not the traffic causing the noise it was the elevator itself sounding like a freight train going up & down the shaft continuously. So why would they build a Suite next to the elevator? Even the heating system in the room was loud adding even more noise. Good thing this was a discounted stay (Living Social Cert.) or I would of been furious with this hotel, and on top of it all it's against hotel policy to get your own luggage cart when you leave! Another $ sucking scam. The reason I gave this a poor Value is because a normal rate for this room is ridiculously priced and would a rip off in a bad way. There are 3 good things I can say about this hotel, the room was very clean and the staff is above & beyond with courtesy and information and the location is great.

Room Tip: Stay away from the suites next to the elevators and don't expect good wireless service at this h...

Dear sggggg:

First and foremost, thank you for your kind words about our clean rooms, great staff and great location. We appreciate that you did acknowledge some positive aspects of your stay with us.

Emerald Lounge is by design, inspired by a NYC Cocktail Lounge - therefore, a limited amount of beer is featured on tap. There is a fantastic beer garden, Rock Garden, directly across the street from the hotel which features dozens and dozens of beers on tap. It would be an ideal stop for you on your next visit to Boston.

With regard to the bell cart, should you or someone else or even an automobile be injured/damaged while the cart is in your possession, it is the hotel that would be held liable, not you. Therefore, we require that an insured-bell attendant manage the bell carts at all time and this is anything but a scam to make money, it is simply for the protection of the hotel.

Happy New Year,

Tim Anctil

Going to make myself sound like an idiot, but... oh well! Long story short: wound up locked out of my house while walking my dog. It was a day or so before Christmas, so the landlord wasn't around to let me in; my iPhone died; and it was pouring out. Perfect storm: I'm soaked with a dog late at night, and no way to get in touch with to help. Solution: staycation. I remembered the Revere is a dog-friendly hotel so I cabbed over to spend the night. Irving at the front desk was exceptionally friendly, extremely professional and just a really warm, courteous presence on a cruddy night. He even offered to have some dog treats sent up to the room to cheer up the pooch. An unusual stay, but great customer service is hard to come by and I really wanted to commend Irving on his approach.
