“Great place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

Although the weather did not cooperate, we were readily supplied a second umbrella by the housekeeping staff. Our room was very comfortable, with REAL glasses to drink from as well as a couple of bottles of water left on the night stand. HUGE flat screen TV, balcony on the 22nd floor, and unbelievably quiet. Charlotte at the front desk was super charming and very helpful (thanks Char! We went back to the Thinking Cup for breakfast!!) Great location, would stay there again without hesitation!

Thank you for choosing the Revere Hotel Boston Common. I am happy to hear how comfortable and quiet your stay was with us and how great Charlotte was in providing you with four diamond service. She is a wonderful asset to our team! Hopefully the next time you stay with us the weather will be better for you, and you will be able to enjoy a cocktail outside on the patio at Emerald Lounge!

Well appointed, roomy and excellent towels and toiletries. Pillows far too plump and soft for me, but bolster provided when requested which was much better. Didn't eat at the hotel, lots of cafes nearby for breakfast and dined locally twice at Vapiano over the road, and the Chinese restaurant by the Transportation building. Great location for theatres, subway and the park.

Thank you for staying at the Revere Hotel Boston Common. Happy to hear you enjoyed the guestrooms and Skoah bathroom products. We did spend a lot of time testing pillows and bedding to ensure comfort and I do suggest checking out the pillow menu, where you have a variety of pillows to choose from. I also recommend trying Emerald Lounge the next time you stay with us. They offer a utensil-free menu with great variety and delicious craft cocktails. My favorites are the coconut shrimp with a Blueberry Vojito!

This hotel is in a great location and has a number of nice features/amenities. To skip to the punch line, I would absolutely stay here again and look forward to my next opportunity to do so.

Pros:
- hotel appears to be new or newly renovated
- check-in is quick, efficient and courteously staffed
- rooms are tastefully appointed with hardwood entryway, carpeted bedroom, desk, reading area with chaise lounge and designated lighting
- iPad speakers
- complimentary slippers
- extensive and varied room service menu
- TV works with the LodgeNet app for iPhone, which is a cool and fun feature
- complimentary WiFi

Cons:
- elevators take quite some time to come and some have not yet been renovated
- no alarm clock in the room. While I'm sure the average guest has a watch or phone to tell time, it's nice to have a clock in the room that is visible if you awaken during the night
- no minibar
- no bathrobe. This isn't a big deal but most hotels that offer slippers have bathrobes.
- the bathroom toiletries are bolted to the wall. This is undoubtedly more green than manufacturing the miniature sized bottles but is much less convenient for guests.
- located near a number of great restaurants

The pros more than outweigh the cons so I wholeheartedly recommend a stay here.

Thank you for staying at the Revere Hotel Boston Common and for your comments. Glad to hear you enjoyed the location of the hotel as well as the amenities we offer. All guestrooms should have two bathrobes as well as an alarm clock; I am not sure why your room was missing these items and I will certainly be addressing this with our cast. As part of being a green hotel, we chose to use large pumps to dispense the Skoah products we offer in each guest bathroom so we do not waste containers. We look forward to your return.

This was our first visit to Boston and we were only able to stay for 2 days, so we wanted to ensure we found somewhere central. The hotel is accessed through a side door at the entrance to a car park, not too difficult to miss but my boyfriend ran ahead to check it was correct as we had our luggage (which we'd just wheeled for 15 mins from the station.) The concierge came out to advise me that, yes this was the hotel and I couldn't help but feel like he was taking the mickey out of us... but never minid! We checked in quickly, with the added touch of being given a glass of champagne whilst doing so!

I had read reviews where people had said the corridors smelt of vomit and unfortunately we found the same thing! However once in the room there was no smell, it was just pretty strange and unpleasant whilst in the corridor.

The room we stayed in was perfect with a lovely bathroom, great toiletries and a huge comfortable bed. Approximately a 5 minute walk from Boston Common, and 10 minute walk from "Cheers" this was a great place to be based.

When walking to Boston Common from the hotel you encounter the head office for "Old Town Trolly Tours." This was great and very worthwhile. I had done a tour with the same company in Washington D.C and knew this would be worth doing whilst we were in Boston for such a small amount of time. As it's a hop on hop off service we also walked the length of the Freedom Trail as well whilst hopping off and on at our convenience. We didn't have time to do the "free" river cruise that comes with the ticket so I pushed that point and we were given a reduced "trolly only" 24 hour ticket. Worth asking if you're not fussed on the cruise!

All in all, great hotel, would go back tomorrow!

Thank you for staying at the Revere Hotel Boston Common. We are happy to hear how much you enjoyed our location and guestrooms. It looks like you stayed with us back in September when we were having issues with the glue in the carpet causing an odor in the hallways, which has now been resolved. Next time you visit, I recommend you stop by our concierge desk since they provide personalized service and can suggest places to visit based on how long you are in town for.

During my frequent travels I rarely enjoy a week stay as mush as I have at the Revere. This boutique hotel maintains it's professional polish while making it's guests feel special by offering beautifully appointed and decorated, balcony rooms, and warm courteous attention by every member of the staff. The rooms are immaculate and the housekeeping does a great job.
Even more noteworthy is the beautiful Emerald Lounge. The energetic staff goes out of their way to be welcome their guests and ensure prompt friendly service.
The bartender, Tea, impressed me by taking the time to candidly list several possible dining options in the area as well as taking a few minutes to engage in great conversation. Such a treat. I also found that the servers at the Emerald were also very friendly and helpful. Nicole and Nora took the time to explain the general areas, and frank conditions of various areas of Boston. They truly offered me sound advise.
I will certainly return.

Room Tip: Balconies are nice.

Thank you for staying at the Revere Hotel Boston Common and for your wonderful comments. I am delighted to hear how much you enjoyed everything the Revere has to offer our guests. Glad you had the opportunity to check out Emerald Lounge and that the cast was so helpful. If you are in town the end of October, I definitely recommend you attend Emerald’s Halloween Party, with some of the proceeds benefiting One Tail at a Time Rescue charity. It will be a great event!

The good things about this place is that :
1. It is only a few blocks from the Transport
2. Near eating areas
3. Close to hop on and hop off sightseeing bus stop

The downside is:
1. Noisy rooms - you can hear the background noise from the airconditioning/ventilation machines from nearby buildings on the rooftop

As you mentioned, we are centrally located in the city, close to the T, many different restaurants and the trolley tour buses stop right in front of the hotel which makes sightseeing a great experience for our guests. We hope to see you again soon.
