“enjoyed our stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2012

we stayed for 4 nights in a room with two very small double beds, beds were very comfortable, room was small but really quiet and a lovely room.
all staff were very friendly and helpful
bar prices were too expensive at 23 dollars for a glass of wine and a bottle of stella artois - excessive
hotel is very central and ideal for shopping

“Average at best, lots of little annoyances”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2012

The Omni Parker House is a quaint, nice looking hotel in a great location. The room was clean. That's pretty much where the positives end. We were there because the reception for a wedding we were attending was there, and our one day/one night stay was one hassle after another. In fairness we were tight on time so many of the issues might have been less annoying if time wasn't tight. First, early check in was promised both by the person taking my phone reservation and by the online check in system which asked for a check in time. We were told our bags would be delivered quickly to the room but they took so long my wife had to get them herself. Then they couldn't find the wedding gift we had checked with our luggage while we waited for a room (it was eventually found). The hotel staff had no knowledge of the wedding shuttle despite the wedding host having discussed it with the hotel numerous times. The concierge finally gave us the shuttle time but gave us the wrong one so we missed it. No big deal except the concierge said the doorman was the only one who could call a cab and we couldn't find a doorman when we needed one, so we were on our own for that. The tub didn't drain and the hairdryer didn't work. The brunch tickets we were given had a fictitious room # on them (room 9000?) - a small thing but left us looking on the 9th floor for a brunch that was at lobby level. The front desk staff weren't very helpful or knowledgeable about the hotel. We don't need great service when we travel - just average service is good enough for us - but the Omni wasn't even that. If you want a cute hotel in a great location the Omni might work for you, but if you want knowledgeable hotel staff and at least average service you might want to look elsewhere.

We apologize for the service breakdowns encountered by this guest during his stay and have already contacted him separately to follow up on the issues he raised. His experience is not indicative of those typically recounted by our guests and we gladly take note of where we can improve

“Classy. Very classy...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2012 via mobile

Built in 1855, it is the oldest continuous hotel in the US. It's got a beautiful lobby, and restaurant. Very historic. Great location, a few blocks to Fanuel Hall, and a few blocks to Boston Commons. I guess the only ding against this place - the rooms are small, but it's got a great bed, and who visits a city to sit in a hotel room anyway...

“Classic - also in a negative sense”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2012 via mobile

Great hotel with lots of history. But it needs to get a little more in touch with the modern traveler. At this price, wireless internet access should be included. Not only is the rate for access too expensive, $10 a day, it only covers one device. So if you're traveling with a laptop, smartphone and a tablet it adds up to $30 a day to get online.

“Great location, exceptionally clean and well maintained.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2012 via mobile

I always am concerned about older hotels in city centers - the age usually shows. Not so here - exceedingly well maintained and the room and bathroom, though tiny, we're spotlessly clean. Lots of soft fluffy towels and amenities and service of a resort. Staff is friendly and helpful. Lobby and public areas are beautiful. Fitness center is very nice and there is a business center to print boarding passes. Good electrical strip on the night stand - did not have to crawl around on the floor to charge electronics. This is where Parker House rolls and Boston Cream Pie originated. The warm, buttery Parker House rolls were almost worth the whole trip. The hotel is very near Boston Commons and the Freedom Trail, so I was able to bell check my luggage and go exploring after check out. Very nice. Location and cleanliness made up for the very tiny room.
