“Great Full Service Hotel in Heart of Boston”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

There are few hotels that you can walk to the North End, the Waterfront, South Station, Boston Common & Newbury Street in Boston. I love staying at the Omni Parker House (rooms are old time small but ample) Lots of T Stops all around. The Last Hurrah bar off the lobby has a nice selection of scotch and the bartender Martin has been their for 42 years. I have stayed here a few time and have never been disappointed.

Older hotel smack-dab in the center of Boston, close to many business and tourist areas. It is showing it's age however with fraying carpets in the hallways and a small, claustrophobic guest room that was in need of a refresh. The main lobby and restaurant has survived the years better and exudes a sense of old-fashioned class and sophistication. With all that being said, for the price as compared to other hotels in the area, it is definitely worth it.

A nice older hotel near the start of the freedom trail. The room was quite large however had a small bathroom. Great wifi but only in the lobby extra in the room. Overall a comfortable stay for the price also conveniently located near the park street subway station one of the main interchanges in Boston.

First time to Boston, couldn't decide where to stay. After pondering it for days, and weeks, we decided on the Parker house based on the reasonable rate we got compared to other locations. Hotels down near the water were going for almost $400 a night and we got this for around $200. First, the location is awesome. It's an easy walk to so many things, and i am not one to walk a long distance. The Hotel itself is beautiful, old historic hotel that is still in great shape. The employees treat you great, the restaurants are great, we had no complaints. the only negative are the small, very small, bathrooms. this is an old historical hotel, so while the rooms are updated and current, the bathrooms obviously are where you lose out. We certainly managed with what we had, but for our four nights, that was the only thing i can even say slightly negative about the place. When we return, we will certainly look to stay again.

Room Tip: we were on the 8th floor at the end of the hall and had no issues. Elevators were quick and no lon...

The Omni Parker Hotel is in a superb location in the financial area of Boston, close to the common. The hotel itself has a grand exterior and a very old fashioned, beautiful lobby. The lifts and hallways, whilst slightly shabby sitll hold some old style charms.
The room I stayed in (1028) was a corner room as requested, although small, was adequate. Again some of the finishings were shabby and tired, but the room itself was comfortable. Perfect for a short break but to be honest after 12 nights I did start to get cabin fever!
The bed was very comfortable and the robe was a nice touch. The main negative comment about this room was the fact that it overlooked the road, and for most nights there were road works right outside which went on until 2am. Luckily I had taken ear plugs with me otherwise I would have got no sleep.
I ate in the restaurant and had room service during my saty. Both of which I was very impressed with. The chilli on the room service menu was highly recommended.
I also had drinks in both Parkers Bar and the Last Hurrah. Parkers was my favourite as there was more of an 'old school glamour' feel. Nice cocktails too!
Overall I really enjoyed my stay. The hotel had good facilities, the gym was also great although a pool would have been nice. I would definitely stay again when in Boston.
One note though, apparently the 10th floor is also haunted so bear this in mind when booking!!

Room Tip: Not a room the 10th floor unless you like ghosts!!!

We stayed at the hotel for 5 nights and really enjoyed our stay. I rated it 4 because I think the hotel rooms are super expensive for a very very old hotel. That being said the hotel is impeccable, the staff exceptional and the food divine. The bed was very comfortable and the in-room coffee is Wolfgang Puck. The concierge is friendly and helped planning our day trip to Salem with skill and charm. This is the oldest continuously operating hotel in the US, and has a lot of history. The pubs are both wonderful and the food was really divine. Try the chicken pot pie, which was surprising and divine. The location can not be beaten. Right in the heart of old town Boston and 2 T stations 3 min away.

Room Tip: Very expensive so pick the best room if you want a view, or you will be looking a the wall next door...

I requested a room in the 'quiet' area of the hotel so I wasn't disturbed by other events going on at the time (I'd heard some people had problems with this). Had a lovely stay here, staff were very pleasant, food was good and the rooms were lovely. Only a few small issues.

Pros:
Rooms were very clean, bathrooms were beautifully decorated.
Breakfast had a great choice
Staff were very friendly
GREAT location (walk outside the hotel and you're right next to metro stops and the Boston Common, which is a lovely spot)

Cons:
Quite pricey (breakfast was expensive and they leave out nice stuff in the room but BE WARNED, they're not free)
Room didn't have a view at all, looked out into a business man's office! (So had to keep the curtains shut pretty much all the time)

Room Tip: Request a quiet room, and (if you're fussed) a view with a nicer view than I had!
