“Dirty - old sheets - GROSS!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2007

The staff was helpful. I think that is the only nice thing I could say about this place. The room was gross! The sheets were yellowed and dirty. The towels in the bathroom were frayed, old, and stained. The shower had a rusty rod, and mold on the curtian.

The Oasis is within blocks of Northeastern University, Berklee School of Music, The Symphony, and the beautiful grounds of the Christian Science Headquarters, so the scene is multi-cultured and full of life. The street where the Oasis is located, however, is quiet as can be. The staff is friendly and helpful, the room was very nice and the guest parlors are comfy with microwave and refrigerator - and breakfast every morning. Access to downtown is only two blocks. This is where I'll stay next time!

This guest house is nicely located in the Back Bay area and close to fashion street Newbury for shoppers and to the Fenway for baseball enthusiasts. The rooms are clean and the shared bathroom works fine. For Boston it is definately good for the price.

Two nights spend in this nice and clean little well situated guest house.

Simple but good continental breakfast (we would have appreciate a greater choice of jams) , we were just very surprised not to have any table to take it !!, only 3 small glass living room's tables to held only one plate and a cup .

would be this to invite us not to remain too long in the lounge during breakfast ?? well done .......

Helpfull and friendly staff

We'll certainly stay there the next time we're in Boston.

Booked a room at the Oasis for 2 nights in September - they were very helpful on the phone while booking. We ended up actually staying at Adam's Place which is just a few doors down.

For the price, this place is great. The room we booked was small. Big enough for a double bed and a dresser. The tv was mounted up on the wall. We chose to share a bathroom with others - which was right around the corner from us. Though, we did have a sink in our room. The bathroom was always very clean. We never had any trouble with waiting for it to be available.

The location was pretty ideal. It is located just a couple blocks from a train stop - very easy to get to. Its on a residential street, so it was very quiet at night.

There wasn't much to choose from as far as breakfast goes - but there are nearby places to grab a bite to eat.

We really didn't spend that much time there - we were too busy!
If you just need a quiet, clean place to lay your head and you don't need the extras - this is a great place to do it.

Stayed here for 4 nights while attending a conference at the Hynes convention center. PERFECT location for a quick and easy walk to the convention center for the conference, and to/fro the nearby subway station for exploring the city and getting to/fro airport. Felt safe as a woman alone walking even in the evening, as lots of activity around. Clean & comfortable accomodations - room is small as the website photos show, but was only there to sleep so no problem. VERY VERY friendly staff. Restaurants, Whole Foods grocery store, etc. nearby. Will return there any time I am in Boston. Cannot beat the price, location, & friendly staff.

The Oasis is a small, simple, comfortable guest house in a convenient location. I don't see any reason to stay anywhere else unless you're on an expense account. The rooms are small but clean and comfortable. The living room/kitchen area is pleasant. The management is helpful. It much nicer than the "luxury" of the big hotels.
