convenient location. facility is worn out and old. room is tiny. friendly service, very small room and small shower. If you are taller than 5'8" or weight more than 160 lbs. Don't think about it. If you are travel more the 2 in the family. Your family will never speak to you or travel again.

Room Tip: none, just endure it.

We stayed at the third floor and were surprised by the large bathroom. Even though the rooms could definitely use an update (and were fairly small), the place was very clean and staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was nothing special but since the hotel is located near the centre of Boston (theatre district), eating out is no problem. For Boston standards, prices are reasonable. Also worth mentioning: the excellent and super fast wifi.

Lovely old hotel which is spotless and the staff are nice and friendly. The rooms are a little cramp but the bathroom is spotless.
The location is brilliant you walk out of the hotel turn right, walk down one block and you are at Boston Common and a few minutes walk from the Cheers bar. The parking is in a garage over the road from the hotel and you get a discounted fee.

I stayed here for three nights with my daughter for her college visit. Three nights including Saturday night for $830 (double) is not exactly cheap but perhaps modest by Boston's standard. Having to arrange this trip quite late we did not have much choice.

On a plus side the location is very good -- easy walking distance to restaurants, Starbucks, 7-Eleven, Boston Common, Greenline Boylston or Arlington station. The room was small but very clean, the bathroom was roomy. Staff was friendly and breakfast was free.

However, soundproof of the room was totally lacking -- we were on the second floor facing the busy Charles St., and the noise of the traffic (trucks driving over bumps), frequent sirens of ambulances and police cars, rowdy street people, kids skateboarding, etc. were unbearable during night hours. Even considering that this was a weekend before the marathon with the first spring-like weather of the season, I thought it was a little too much.

Also the room did not have a chair -- even though the room was small, it could use one -- it was awkward to work on my laptop on the bed.

We are certainly glad that you enjoyed your stay overall; however, wish that you did have a 'quieter' stay while here. Although the sounds of the city can be loud as all city hotels endure, we certainly want to make sure that we take the proper precautions to ensure that the rooms are properly sound proofed so that our guests enjoy their stay. I am having our Chief Engineer go through each guest room on the second floor to check for sound proofing and ensure that we have taken all means possible to ensure that noise is not disturbing our guests.

Thanks and we certainly hope you look to stay with us when coming to Boston next!

Room was tiny and in need of update. The bathtub was suitable for someone three foot or shorter. The room was noisy both from outside noise and hallway/lobby noises. The breakfast was mediocre. On the plus side, the staff was quite friendly and helpful and we were allowed to store luggage after checkout until we left for the airport.

Room Tip: we were on ground level. Go high for less noise

Thank you for your review; however, I wish you had a more enjoyable stay. We are constantly making upgrades to soundproof our rooms and have a diligent preventative maintenance program to ensure that all rooms are ready for guest rental; however, we clearly missed the mark during your stay.

I will be going through all of our first floor rooms to ensure that all is in perfect working order and making sure that any necessary upgrades are completed so that future guests have an enjoyable stay.

Thanks and we certainly hope you look to stay with us again to enjoy our beautiful location in the heart of Boston!

The Milner is a three star hotel with wings. It is spotlessly clean and staffed by a consistently friendly staff. The bed was firm and the bathroom surprisingly large. We chose the Milner because of its proximity to the theater district. It is also convenient for those wanting to walk the Liberty Trail, enjoy the Common, and/or shop. It is a great value.

This is a beautiful tiny historic hotel in Boston's Theatre District. Rooms are tiny, but clean and comfortable, with good beds and good quality linens. The staff were friendly and the breakfast free. The staff were all very helpful with our requests. Compared to other properties in the Theatre District or in Back Bay, it is very inexpensive - but it has 19th century character and the faded elegance of an aging movie star...It served our purposes well for a several day stay.
