My husband and I stayed at The Chandler with another couple. We chose the inn based on its location near the theater district (We saw Shear Madness) and based on its price. It was just as expected - small rooms, but clean. We parked in the garage ($27/day) and walked everywhere we went. The Copley and Prudential Center were nearby, and there is a decent little breakfast spot right around the corner - somewhat shabby-looking, but great muffins:-)

We had 3 complaints about The Chandler. First, on 2 occasions we tried to contact the front desk via the room phone in order to have a cab called. Both times there was no answer. When we called the actual hotel number the phone was answered both times. When we mentioned this to the girl at the desk she said she was on the other line...?

Another problem was the hall noise. While it's not the worst we've experienced, it was definitely bothersome - doors, voices, etc. all could be heard pretty clearly inside the room.

Lastly, the rooms were WAY too hot. Our thermostat read 80 when we arrived and there didn't seem to be a way to turn the heat off. The thermostat was not working, and when we flipped the switch on the wall heater the room temp. really didn't change. We slept with the window open (In January, mind you) for most of the night.

My husband and I had a great stay at the Chandler Inn. The rooms are small but immaculate and who goes on vacation to stay in their room? It was great walking distance from a cafe, pub, subway station, CVS. It was wonderful and the staff was AMAZING.

This is a nice hotel, with small but stylish rooms, and in a really fantastic location in the city. What really separates the Chandler Inn, however, is the service. Everyone working at the front desk was exceptionally friendly and helpful, and willing to accommodate any request with no hesitation.

Came back this winter with my girlfriend, for a few pleasant days in Boston. Again, payed a fair price for a comfortable (however small) room. Free wifi and water, proximity to the Tremont Street (lots of restaurants), the Copley Place Mall, Copley and Back Bay T stations. I have made more internet shoppings than it would be polite to , and even so the staff was always patient and nice. They even let us check out a little later with no charge, as an exception. In Boston, I won't even consider another hotel! My girlfriend loved it too!
